Best Down Jacket I've Ever Come Across

Outdoor Research Transcendent Hooded Down Jacket - Men's

Outdoor Research Transcendent Hooded Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 6, 2011

The unique thing about this jacket is that it is a bit longer in the back, making for a fit that won't reveal bare skin when your moving or leaning forward. Furthermore, the heat retention is incredible, even among down jackets. I wear this jacket night skiing with a single baselayer and i'm good. I also wear this jacket during class unnecessarily because it is so gosh darn cozy.

Oakley O-Frame Goggle

November 30, 2010

The fire is one of Oakley's lenses with the lowest light emission, meaning that the least amount of light gets through. Therefore the lens is darker. The persimmon on the other hand is the best all-around lens I have ever used, and if you can get passed the inherent "cool" factor of the mirrored lens, persimmon is undoubtedly the better option for your riding style.

100+ Days On These

Oakley Behind Enemy Lines Pant - Men's

Oakley Behind Enemy Lines Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 23, 2010

I got these pants in 2007, and have worn them almost exclusively for 3 seasons of 30+ days. The corduroy looks awesome and functions better. It has held up to abuse that has shredded the bottom of all other pants I have ever owned.

Ultimate Tele Setup

Scarpa Terminator X Pro Boot

Rating for this product: 5 November 18, 2010

I have this boot with the NTN binding, and can not speak highly enough for both of them. This boot is everything I could want, what stands out most to me however is the unbelievably customizable fit provided by the intuition liner, and the AT (in my case Dynafit) compatibility. As for flex and responsiveness, I ride this boot with the stiffest spring (black) that you can get for the NTN binding, and together this is a match made in heaven. This is especially notable given the fact that such a stiff spring could easily overpower a softer boot, resulting in lack of a clean flex from the binding, and extra loose flex from the boot.

Switch Tele Anyone?

Scarpa NTN Binding

Scarpa NTN Binding

Rating for this product: 5 November 11, 2010

I have long been searching for the setup that would allow me to dial my switch tele, as it is the only aspect of alpine that I miss having left behind. Well here it is! These bindings plus the black stiff springs= sheer perfection and total control. The flex is so smooth, and so solid. This is the New Telemark Norm, period.

ALPS Mountaineering Slick Rock Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Primaloft

ALPS Mountaineering Slick Rock Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Primaloft

Rating for this product: 5 November 11, 2010

I can honestly say that I have never been cold in this bag. The coldest night I've used it for was a February overnight on Monarch Pass, couldn't have been happier wearing only a single base layer. The Primaloft is great, because unlike down it does not pack out in the least. Mine is just as plush as the day that I bought it. It is also thick enough to provide a little extra cushion!

Burton Freestyle Snowboard Binding - 09/10

June 15, 2010

A small or medium binding can usually accompany a size 8.5. I would go with medium, to allow for growth.

THE BEST

Backcountry.com Prime Power Stretch Top - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Backcountry.com Prime Power Stretch Top - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 June 15, 2010

Backcountry.Com does it again. I've had them all, The North Face, Patagonia, Marmot. This guy fits the best, wicks the best, simply cannot be compared to by the competition. Even the build quality stands out. All the others have begun to fade and pill, this one stills looks new after a year. However! be wary when washing this, a hot dryer may melt the fabric.

Nalgene Narrow Mouth Tritan Bottle - 32oz

Nalgene Narrow Mouth Tritan Bottle - 32oz

Rating for this product: 4 June 15, 2010

This is my go to bottle for hiking trips and other outdoor pursuits. The mouth of the bottle a great new design, much smoother and less crevices to store bacteria. Great size, just wish it fit in typical cup-holders.

This is the number one glove in my arsenal. Anatomically correct, very durable, uniquely designed and uniquely functional. Goes great with the backcountry glove liner when bought one size up. Otherwise a snug fit.

Best Liners Out There.

Backcountry.com Liner Glove - Men's

Backcountry.com Liner Glove - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 15, 2010

These are the warmest, best fitting, fastest drying, most functional liners i have ever owned. The only thing to keep in mind is their thickness, they are thick enough that they may compromise the fit of an already tight glove
