lightweight and warm but not really compact

The North Face Classic Denali Fleece Jacket - Men's

PROS: The jacket has a great combination of being very warm and lightweight at the same time; handles the wind pretty well too. The zippers under the armpits are quite appropriate too, a very thoughtful detail (that clearly distinguishes North Face products in the market). The TOP QUALITY of the materials is yet another thing to mention.
CONS: It is not really easy to stow in a daypack, it takes up plenty of space; I usually resort to carrying it in my hands when it gets too warm. The price is a bit high too, but I got mine on sale and would not have gone for the regular one.

OVERALL: Very satisfied.
