Like others have said, these boots are comfortable right out of the box, nice and light weight and no blisters. However, the mesh tears easily, the ankle collars started shredding in no time, the reddish accent things on the soles are coming unglued. But even a bigger problem for those who get off the pavement is they are big around the ankle and cannot be laced tight enough to keep out any debris. Chaff and pebbles quickly find a way in when wearing shorts. Going off trail means a collection of larger hitchhikers. If it hurts too much carrying along the extras you will be removing and shaking out these boots frequently. I've ordered another Patagonia boot style as a replacement. We'll see.
