The design of these pants are great, minimalist alpine pants. They have a trim fit but with room for a thin to med underlayer. They are very similar to the awesome gamma AR pant, but made of lighterweight fabric and minus a cargo pocket. They breathe well and have medium wind resistance. This is the second generation of the gamma lt pant in this particular pattern. The original was made from tweave durastretch light which is a slightly thicker stiffer fabric and was sewn in canada for about $60 more. This new incarnation is sewn in china and the new fabric is extremely lightweight, very stretchy, and very soft and sold for a lower price. It drapes like a fine summer wool dress pant...which is actually one of the things I do not like for hard alpine days. It is having the older version that made me appreciate how it could be better. The slightly stiffer fabric held its shape better and did not hug my legs like the new one does. On bare legs, it tends to want to stick and become uncomfortable due to the fact it drapes so easily. The old pants also held up to mountain winds better on winter hikes. Still a great pant, but I did like the older fabric better. They have two hip pockets backed with mesh that act as ventilation when open. I find that when zipped up, they sometimes get compressed under my pack belt and can be uncomfortable. I fix this by zipping it down slightly, or moving my pants down slightly. The bottom cuff is plain with no cinches or added protection. No pockets on back. Typically, I use these pants when there is snow to be had with light winds. On high wind 0F days, I break out the gamma AR's. BTW, if you don't like the belt all tucked in, you can pull it out. It will then function as a standard pull strap just like the gamma AR. This version has a reflective heat transfer logo opposed to the old embroidered one.

Looking for good protection at a good price I tried both the Tasman and the Colorado. The Tasman fit well w/o the side shields, but with them, felt a bit tight. The colorado are much larger, maybe even too large, but this is mainly aesthetic. Even though they are big, they fit well, secure, and offer good coverage and keep the light out.

I was looking for a good alternative to yax track that provided better durability, security, and higher performance. Microspikes fit the bill. The elastic and stainless steel chains are bomber. I expect them to last many years. The elastic is sticky and the design is such that the things don't come off when in use. No matter how much you flail around, they don't pop off like some others can. They also offer very good traction on low grade terrain. They are also alot lighter than crampons. They can bail up a bit on heavy snow, but this product is exactly what I was looking for when I don't want crampons. They are very easy to get off, and a little more work to put on, but easier than crampons. I recommend them 100%. Sizing wise, I use a medium on men's 9.5-10 summer boots as well as 10.5 leather mountaineering boots. They fit quite well. And a small fits great on womens 8.

Fit is quite wide. I measured the inside width at the hinge joint at 5". Behind that the templates spread out even further to a mx of 5.5" before tapering back down over the ears. The profile isn't as round as the throttle lending itself to wider or flatter faces. The nose bridge is also slightly narrower pulling the lenses away from your face slightly. I have a 58cm head and they are almost too wide, but work fine. Lenses go in easily, and slightly harder to get out. This indicates the lenses are held in pretty securely. Haven't had any problems with them popping out. Quality overall is good. The throttles seem to be slightly better as far as lens fit in the templates and overall quality. The rims are very thin and the templates flex a bit if you try to bend them. This causes the lenses to "squeek" as they move around every so slightly which occurs when you clean them. The throttles are stiffer and don't suffer from this nearly as much. The rubber brow area is glued on and made of high density rubber. They are ok, but I like the molded in ones better...they are less bulky. Theses are made in Italy while the throttles are made in Mauritius. I purchased the asphalt, and the finish is slightly different than the throttles in asphalt. The attacks are a flatter black and slightly gray with a almost a soft finish while the throttles are darker black with a smooth hard finish with slightly more luster. The rubber pads all around are grippy and work well. The cam action hinges were already worn out new out of the box. Maybe due to the softer plastic? I like the finish and lens fit of the throttles better, but need a wide template for high intesnsity activities, so these fit the bill.

I have a big head (23" helmet size) on the wide side but took a chance with theses not having tried them. The attack were just a little too big. The fit is really good, any narrower and it would touch the side of my face. There is just enough clearance all the way around. The fit is low profile and very comfy. Lenses stay put and are easy to replace once you get the hang of it. I do it slightly differently than the directions and it works so much easier. I like the blue reflex. Very happy. I own the dash xr and fit OK, but sit too low on my nose.

Great jacket. I'm 5-9 and 160lbs. Small fits well even over a light fleece and down vest. I found the med a bit large. Hood fits over my climbing helmet, and packs small and tight. Waist length works out well for hiking. Sometimes prone to powder entry on deep backcounty ski days, but I usually use it for hiking in the winter. No complaints.
