Volkl Shiro Ski

November 23, 2011

I have the Shiro in a 173 and the S7 in a 178. Both are mounted with Rossi FKS180 bindings. Both are BTW exactly the same length despite the tag, which means the Rossi skis shorter in reality. The Shiro is a stiffer ski than the S7, which is nicer coming home down the groomers, however the Shiro is no slouch in the steep and deep. In truly good Hokkaido (Japan) powder when Im loving every second, Im hard pressed to tell the difference! If I had to only have one pair...tough choice, but it would be the Shiro's by a nose. Hope that helps Erik?

Rossignol FKS 140 Ski Binding

July 19, 2010

Has anyone found that the DIN on the toepiece varies by up to 3 DIN settings when the boot is in the binding verses not in?? (it does this by itself)This occurs when the toepiece pivots slightly between the boot being in v out.
It is occuring on both toepieces, so I assume that this is normal?

Can someone please confirm the dimensions on the 2011 166cm (which I believe is in fact a 168cm?).

An awesome jacket for the often rainy and windy conditions we get here in Australia. Totally breathable, waterproof and warm. A little pricey, but then isn't everything decent now?
