Salomon Protera Hiking Shoe - Men's

This is a great little shoe for the money. I walk about 15 miles a week in these and the support and performance of the shoe are great. The traction is wonderful for the city and using them on the trail. In the rain they rock. I can't make myself slip if I want to. Also, I have noticed a severe decrease in daily knee and shin pain that I had from wearing the wrong shoe before I got these.
They are a little low around the ankle though. I felt like I'd pop right out but once you get the laces firm they stay. And, after mile 15 of a day-long walk my feet hurt, but I loosened the laces and made the last 10 miles relatively pain-free. Maybe not the long-hiker but for 5-10 miles at a time they are perfect.
