Good shoe I guess but what's with the way long shoe laces?

Good shoe I guess but what's with the way long shoe laces? Am I supposed to cut them to a reasonable length and deal with frayed ends? Or do I stuff the excess inside the shoe tongue in some fashion. Need advice. Thanx
