Great cold weather gloves

Burton Pinnacle XCR Under Glove - Men's

Burton Pinnacle XCR Under Glove - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 April 23, 2009

These gloves and the included liners keep my hands dry and warm when it's really cold out (Canada cold, not California cold) and what I liked about them is being able to not use the liners when it isn't that cold out. The maneuverability in these gloves is great and it doesn't restrict my finger/hand movements, and the glove itself isn't too bulky which is good for messing with your bindings.

The only major flaw I see with these is the part that velcros the glove closed is extremely thin. Mine hasn't torn/broken yet, but I can forsee it happening - it's just way too thin for extended use.

Burton Blunt Snowboard

Burton Blunt Snowboard

Rating for this product: 3 December 8, 2006

Right - a review from a Burton Rep. That's not biased at all... I've used enough Burton products - there are some that I think are awesome. But this isn't one of them. I rode a Blunt from last year for half a season, and this is the same board - no new technology, just new graphics. I've ridden boards in the same price range that have way more pop. The flex of this board is decent, but by no means that which Burton claims it is - take a look at the Artifact if you're looking for a buttery board. The extruded base is pretty slow... regardless of the conditions. If you're a complete beginner, I don't see anything wrong with this board... but if you've been riding for a while and can tell a decent board from a bad one, and want to get into park, there are much better boards for the price. This board is essentially a repackaged Burton Clash - just more expensive.

Oakley A-Frame Goggle Replacement Lens

Oakley A-Frame Goggle Replacement Lens

Rating for this product: 5 September 13, 2006

In California, there's a mixture of great bluebird days and dumping, stormy days. I used to hate wearing goggles, but after I got my A-Frames I realized I hated them because my goggles sucked. I used them, and Black Iridium lenses for most of last season. For the days that are mostly sunny with a bit of clouds, I use Black Iridium lenses. I like them because they don't TOTALLY distort the color of everything around you like some other lenses. They're crystal clear, too. The only downside... they scratch really easily (and for the most part, I try to take care of my gear). I am definitely going to get some H.I. yellows this coming season.

awesome gloves

DAKINE Viper Glove

DAKINE Viper Glove

Rating for this product: 5 February 9, 2006

I bought a pair of the '06 DAKINE Viper gloves and they're awesome. Great for spring riding, I don't know about in the middle of winter though, as I haven't been able to wear them in 15F temps yet. Super grippy, and they look awesome, and let's face it, everyone's nose runs. Sometimes when I don't have easy access to a tissue I gotta use that handy thumb nose wiper thing. Just be sure to wash the gloves, because you don't want to ride around with your snot the entire season. My only complaint is that the fingers aren't as long as Burton gloves (I have long fingers) but that's not the glove's fault.
