I got these socks for my husband and he is getting really bad

Stoic Merino Comp Hiking Socks - 2-Pair

I got these socks for my husband and he is getting really bad rashes on top of foot and right above the sock line. Anyone has same experience? He doesn't have any allergies that we know of. This is the first of kind he experienced so we are puzzled.
