so i have the 2009/2010 model, and as far as i can tell the only changes they have made are the graphics and have refined the tip shape a bit. i was racing when i got these skis, so going from skiing heavy north west pow on race skis to this was a HUGE improvement. however, as i started upping my big mountain game, looking for the steep and deep, and final doing some jumping/cliffs i started finding some faults with these skis
1: they are to narrow to ski more then a foot of fresh
2 the ELP rocker is just extreme enough to start loosing grip on hard-pack, but the tips are to low to surface in powder, so you cant really ski that well
3. they feel dead, i don't like the flex pattern, it feels a bit half done, like they could have made a really good on piste jib ski, but they ruined the flex pattern, so you cant really Ollie or anything well.
4. the top sheets aren't durable, that's not a huge complaint cause there kids skis, what do you expect
5. they don't ski switch well, i don't know why, but they just don't
okay, so at this point your probably thinking that you shouldn't get this ski, and you shouldn't if you charge hard balls to the wall waist deep powder all the time. these skis however are very maneuverable, nimble, and light, so if your kid is starting to venture off piste onto the blacks and double blacks, especially if they like tree skiing or tight turns, these are great skis. sorry not great good, since the flex patterns still messed up. the issue with these skis is that they market them to the wrong level, there really for kids getting off the groomers, not for more advanced kids, if you are advanced, get the line bacon shorty's,
