I had the older version of this bottle (the .5L Water Bottle) and then all the news came out about BPA. To correct another review, #7 on a bottle doesn't mean it's not safe - #7 just means it doesn't fit in with the other recycling numbers (check Wikipedia). It's the PC on the bottom that means it's polycarbonate, and that's what has the BPA.
The good news is that Camelbak has already come out with their Better Bottle line, which is made of Tritan, with no BPA.
