Didn't last, bad customer service

The jacket started out great. Was a great all year round jacket, but as time went on a spot near the zipper began to delaminate, as others have reported problems. Also the Velcro strap stitching has come undone. It does not seem like they have fixed this as another reviewer stated concern about this. Maybe I got a lemon, who knows. I received this jacket as a gift from a family friend, whom me and my family are no longer speaking to. I thought this jacket said LIFETIME warranty, so I emailed them, waited weeks never got a reply. I finally called them, but they said I needed a receipt, which I couldn't produce since I was gifted it. Other stoic products I've used have been great, but this one has just been a let down, along with the customer service. I recently emailed Burton about some new laces for my boots, and ankle straps for my 2007 cartel bindings, and they shipped them out right away. No need to even try and remember where/when I bought it or find a receipt from nearly 5 years ago, quick response and excellent service, unlike stoic (and by extension backcountry).
