I'm happy with the purchase but the description is inaccurate. The shoe has a conventional lacing system and the thin laces do not stay tightly tied unless they are double tied. The sole is relatively grippy but not on wet rock or grass, particularly on an incline/decline, nothing surprising there though as the tread pattern is not too aggressive. The cushioning is adequate for running on rocky terrain and the shoe is very comfortable and quite light.

I had one and used it for a 6 week cycle tour. I stuffed it into the sack every morning during that trip and didn't have a single issue with the fabric.
