Sidi Sierra's are not made in Italy, and I believe are being phased out by Sidi.
Having said that, they are actually a really good shoe. Roomier in the toe area than my Italian Sidi's. Very light for a mountain shoe. Straps hold your foot as well as a buckle, and there is nothing to break. Period.
I would not recommend them if you hike-a-bike, as the sole is stiff and plastic. They do, however, feel great when riding, and would even make a great road shoe.
If you wear SPD's, you will likely have to shave a little of the sole around the cleat area to give them some more room. Easily done with my dremel.
Happy trails.
