Very Comfortable Windshirt

GoLite Wisp Wind Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

GoLite Wisp Wind Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 9, 2007

This is a very comfortable wind shirt. It fits well. (I have a slender frame and some jackets/shirts are too baggy). The arms are long enough to stay in place when I reach up over my head. The fabric is silky, and very quite. There is no annoying crinkle or scraping sounds coming from the shirt.
It keeps the wind out but breaths pretty well. The arms are a little baggy, which is not a problem but it does create an interesting sensation when the wind is blowing. You cannot feel the wind but you can feel the shirt moving with the wind.
I like the simplicity of the shirt. There is a stow pocket with a zipper so you can put your keys and a smaller wallet in while you run. It is a 1/4 zip so venting is a little restricted. I think a longer zipper would be helpful for venting. This is a great cool weather running top.

Looks Great...and functions as well

Arc'teryx Rho LT Zip Top - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Arc'teryx Rho LT Zip Top - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 9, 2007

I have this top in Black. It is a great piece. I generally use it as a layering piece for skiing. The fabric feels great against the skin, soft and comfortable. It also looks great on its own. I have received several compliments on it when wearing it after skiing or hiking.
The single pocket is great it is a great size and doesn't sag. I often carry my cell phone in the chest pocket.

A Great Pack

Arc'teryx Needle 65 Backpack - 3722-3966cu in

Arc'teryx Needle 65 Backpack - 3722-3966cu in

Rating for this product: 5 May 4, 2007

This pack fits very well. I have a trim build and often feel like my pack is wider than I am, no problem with the Needle. It is also very comfortable. The padding is a good medium, not too squishy so there isn't enough support but not too firm so it feels like being strapped to some 2x4's. It is super durable and very water resistant. I can load it up for a week and feel comfortable carrying it. All in all a great pack.

Light and Comfortable

La Sportiva Trango S EVO GTX Mountaineering Boot - Men's

La Sportiva Trango S EVO GTX Mountaineering Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 4, 2007

I have a difficult to fit foot. Narrow with a narrow heel. I often have trouble finding boots that fit. The Trango S EVO GTX fits great. I can snug them down and they hold my foot comfortably. They are great to hike in, with enough rocker to make up for the stiffness of the sole. I have never had a problem kicking steps, the boot is solid and my foot is held solidly so I don't have any toe bang, with my foot sliding to the front. A great boot for scrambling adventures where snow and rock are mixed.

Solid Jacket

Mountain Hardwear Alchemy Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Alchemy Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 4, 2007

I have had the Mountain Hardwear Alchemy Jacket for more than 2 years. I have worn it all over. From freezing winter in Pennsylvania to powder days in the Wasatch Mountains. It has performed very well. It is warm, stretchy and very functional. Climbing, skiing, walking around town, this jacket has performed great. It looks great so can wear it around town and not feel like I belong in the backcountry. A solid performer in a windstopper jacket.

Light yet Playful

G3 Reverend Ski

G3 Reverend Ski

Rating for this product: 5 May 4, 2007

I have these mounted with Fritschi Freeride bindings. They are a great ski. They float in powder and are super agile on groomed runs. They are also very light, they feel lighter than my other skis which are 82mm at the waist. Light weight agile yet power to get through crud, a great ski.

GoLite Sky Runner Short - Men's

GoLite Sky Runner Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 3, 2007

These shorts fit well. The fabric has a little stretch so they move with you as you run. The liner is smooth against the skin and there are no seams so there is no chaffing. I didn't use the pocket on the back but it is large enough for an energy bar or a cell phone.

Very Comfortable Shirt

GoLite DriMove Top - Short-Sleeve - Men's

GoLite DriMove Top - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 3, 2007

A t-shirt seems like a pretty basic piece of gear, but this one is better than many others I've used. I was surprised at how soft this shirt was. I have an older Golite C-thru t-shirt that is a little scratchy. The DriMove top felt great against my ski. It moved sweat very effectively. It never felt wet against my skin. The odor control of the cocona fibers was also quite good, the shirt did not get as stinky as others I have used. I would recommend this shirt because it feels good and works great.

Great for the Resort

Arc'teryx Stingray Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Stingray Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 3, 2007

I probably made a mistake in getting this Jacket. It is a great jacket, totally windproof, totally waterproof. It is awesome for resort skiing. That said it isn't as versatile as other jackets (such as the Alpha line from Arc'teryx). The Stingray is heavy, and bulky. I like to be able to stuff my jacket small. The fabric isn't as breathable as other Gore-Tex jackets. If you are looking for a jacket to wear at a ski resort this is for you, it will keep you warm and dry. If you want more versatility, and aren't always at the resort I would recommend looking elsewhere

Rating for this product: 5 May 3, 2007

These socks are extremely comfortable. They feel incredible against your skin. They fit really well, no bunching. The heel stays where it is supposed to and never get blisters from the socks migrating around. I have used many other brands of socks and these are the pair I like the most.

Lighter than a Windshell

Outdoor Research Zealot Jacket - Men's

Outdoor Research Zealot Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 15, 2007

This Jacket is so light. There is never a reason to leave it behind. It packs small enough to fit in the smallest corner of my pack. I often carry a windshell instead of a waterproof breathable jacket, now I won't get soaked when it dumps because I will have the zealot.

Great Jacket

Arc'teryx Gothic Hooded Sweater - Unisex

Arc'teryx Gothic Hooded Sweater - Unisex

Rating for this product: 5 February 15, 2007

This jacket is really warm. The fleece liner is comfortable against the skin and putting on the hood makes everything toasty. The sleeves look great. They are clean and simple, but they cannot be cinched down, so cold air can creep up the sleeves.

One Bag does it All

Patagonia One Bag

Patagonia One Bag

Rating for this product: 5 March 30, 2006

Quite possibly the best travel bag ever. It fits under the seat or in the overhead compartment with no trouble. Yet it will hold a weeks worth of clothes. The different compartments are well thought out. You can actually get to your computer when the bag is full. Understated and classy (you can take it to any boardroom) but durable and functional. A great bag from Patagonia.
