Smith I/O Interchangeable Optics Spherical Series Goggles

Rating for this product: 2 February 4, 2012

Maybe these are park Goggles, NOT all mountain Goggles. I have been skiing for 35 years and bought these Goggles because I loved the design and new look. Smith has a great name and I was looking forward to the great lens. Everything I hoped for came true, but there was one problem. When I skied fast, and I mean gun hard down the mountain, air got in and my eyes watered and burned with the cold. I changed out lens still the same issues, watering eyes on cold days. So I try them 3 different days, and at a normal rate they seemed fine, but when I blasted down the hill they always leaked air inside them. I returned them and got the same pair hoping it was a defect in the pair I had, but the first day out was windy, and when I hit it hard, my eyes watered again. I was not happy. I just returned them for a pair of Oakley Splice. They have the same wide view, great lens, with a full frame around them. I am hoping with the full frame they wont leak air.

Smith I/OS Interchangeable Optic Goggle

January 26, 2012

After paying 165.00 I was wondering the same thing. It seem when I was skiing at a low speed, or moguls, glades, they worked fine. When I gun down the mountain my eyes burn and watered, making it hard to see. I changed the lens, fixed the straps, and gave it 3 days, nothing changed. So I returned the pair I had for a new pair thinking there was a leak in the frame. I will be trying the new pair this coming week, but just thought it was strange that if you bend the frame a little you can see through to the inside. I guess that's cause they are frame less? I just hope air is not getting in, I will know. If so many for my style of skiing I need a frame around the goggles, though I would be shock if this is the case for 165.00 goggles.

Smith I/OS Interchangeable Optic Goggle

January 25, 2012

What happens when you ski or board about 30mph down the mountain? My eyes watered with these, it is a shame cause I love them. But I ski very fast and if you look at these goggles around the edges where there is no frame you can bend slightly and see a crack, so I can see why my eyes watered, anyone else have this issue?

Leak in the winds, or fast skiing

Smith I/O Interchangeable Optics Spherical Series Goggles

I bought a pair and I love them, the only issue is I ski fast, and when I let it rip, they leak and my eyes water and burn from the cold. I changed out the lens, resealed to face and try 3 difference days, still eyes watered. I love these glasses so I just returned them and ordered the same pair I am hoping it was a defect. Has anyone else have this issue when skiing or boarding real fast, or windy days?

The North Face Varius Guide Pant - Men's

October 26, 2011

I have an issue finding pants that fit nice. I am 5'7 1'79, if I get the Large or x-large the pants are way too long normally. Anyone know if this is the case with these pants? I ski in bibs now and they are tight, they are large. I want something more lose fit, and more comfortable.

The North Face Apex Bionic Softshell Jacket - Men's

October 13, 2011

So I am looking for a jacket that I can wear skiing. I only buy North Face, and I already own some nice shells, Gortex, etc. But I want a light weight jacket with no hood that I can still wear in cold weather, like 20's. Something with a nice fit, flexible, and light. I hate bulking up, with layers and layers, and shells with hoods unless it is raining, lol. I do not fall a lot at all, but nice to have some water repellent. I would wear a hot chilly fleece under the jacket, and a nice sweat resistant shirt. I like the warmth the North Face Chromium seems to offer, but I love the two tone color of the North Face Apex Bionic with the black and the blue, looks sharp. For what I am looking for, if I wear a fleece under it, will the North Face Apex Bionic be real warm? Any advice, tips, etc, please let me know, I want to buy this week.
