Decent base layer.

Mountain Hardwear Advance Lightweight Zip Top - Men's

I really like this as a base layer for moderate to heavy activity when it's chilly. It breathes super well and zips if you really need to lose some heat. I would not suggest this for layering when it's brutally cold out though. Did not have any issues with the zip either. I know some folks found it uncomfortable.
