Hi, I am new to backpacking and looking for adjustable trekking

Black Diamond Trail Compact Trekking Pole

Hi,
I am new to backpacking and looking for adjustable trekking pole. A friend suggested Black Diamond. I do not want to spend a lot of money however; would like a durable pole. Suggestions?
I am also in the market for a lightweight tent with a rain fly.
