I ordered last year's color (a variation on black?) on sale at a great price. Alas, they were way too big on me and because I didn't want to pay full price for a smaller size, I returned them. I've been looking for rain pants to bike in for about a year wavering between spending big bucks on pants made for cyclists (skinny ankles, articulated knees, etc.) or something more reasonable for the very few times I ride in the rain. I like these pants. They are light weight (important when you're on a self-sufficient tour), plenty roomy enough to wear over tights or bike shorts, and hopefully they will repel the wind and rain. For cyclists, the drawback is that the leg bottoms are very very wide and the velcro tabs that close the leg still leave a very wide opening. You (I) will just need to use an ankle strap to keep the one leg tightly closed. I like the high waist (I'm in my 60s so that feels normal to me). I was able to find them elsewhere on sale in a smaller size. However, I like shopping at Backcountry so won't give up on them!!
