The reviews for this jacket were so great and the sale price was right, so I went for it. I was looking for an awesome cold weather companion for winter climbing belays and cold nights at camp. I wanted a hood and the overall feeling of being wrapped up in a portable sleeping bag, i guess.
The 800 fill is warm and cozy. However, as with so many outdoor clothing manufacturers, the "feminine" cut takes away from some of it's quality and/or functionality. It was short on me. So raising my arms above my head let in all the cold air. Also the hood is apparently designed to fit a helmet, however when you put the hood over your head it pulls the jacket into your armpits creating some constriction. Also the sleeves were borderline short. Not if this was just a casual jacket. But since I was looking for warmth and comfort, this didn't fit the bill. Maybe I'm freakishly proportioned. I then purchased a size larger thinking this might solve my issues, but then everything was just really big and still with an awkward feminine cut.
So... I opted for a men's down jacket of another brand and I'm very very happy with that.
