This rope has been coming along for years. Its so great to split up the weight of a sixty by carrying two 30m. Obviously some disadvantages but overall pretty great. It also comes along as a safety rope, which it wouldn't if it was sixty metres.

They say you should always carry a rope when going into the unknown, this is one you won't feel the weight of but will save you when you need it to.

The more I use this watch the more I love it. One thing I forgot to mention was how easy it is to operate. I DO NOT use owner manuals, I figure I should be able to do everything I want with a watch without reading how to. This watch has been like that, easy to navigate, easy to use.

The other day my buddy asked if I could upload tracks and follow the waypoints. At that time I could not, then Suunto updated the watch and voila I can.

I have spent over 50 nights in this bivy bag and loved it. But there are no bells or whistles, no hoop or anything over the face. You have to be someone who doesn't mind being uncomfortable. But the simplicity and minimalism of this set up is awesome. I did a twenty one day ski traverse and slept well every night in this baby, except for one crazy snowstorm night where I curled in with the boys.

Its super effective at what it does, weighs nothing but is not comfy when stuck in for 30 hours... no hoop is for the hardcores, since the fabric always falls into your face...

I like interchangeable lenses, they make sense since light changes so much in the course of a day. These lens change easily but be really gentle especially if it is cold. I snapped my first pair in the cold, it may have been driver error but I cannot say for certain. Just be gentle.

I am using them for mountain biking and finding them to be great, they do fog up when I stop but clear up quickly when I am moving again.

Having a small personal snow melter and food cooker is awesome. Quick, simple and effective. Go on a 16 hour mission only carry one litre of water and always melt water at your breaks. A team of two can carry the weight of a litre each and boil 5 litres each along the way. that's twenty pounds saved from carrying, twenty pounds of energy that you can invest into your mission.

I was impressed with the way this is as a total system, it is super well designed and works well as one. The pots are great, heat up well and cook well. Which I fully appreciate but we took it winter camping and it did not work well at all, I would never recommend anyone taking this winter camping. For summer stuff, its awesome but once the cans get cold the stove does not perform well. It was also very slow at boiling water regardless of amount of gas in canisters.

These shoes are comfy and sensitive. You can feel the little nubbins that you are standing on, and wear them for awhile without taking the off. Not very aggressive but that's not what I wanted them for. The velcro straps work really well holding my foot nicely in place and the rubber sticks really well. You will enjoy these shoes.

This hat sure wears high. Its pretty amazing, each day that I have worn it random people have commented on it. From Teachers at my kids school to tellers at the grocery store. It rides high and commands attention, in a casual way. Its cozy and warm. Not something I would ski with since it would blow off my head but a hat to wear while strolling around. The picture doesn't really show how tall the hat is, it is tall.

Helmets make sense. I have been a non-helmet wearer for years but finally got smart and got into them this year. I like this helmet because it is quiet. So many helmets make a lot of noise when you are really going fast. Which is annoying, and distracting. But this baby is quiet.

Its also really light, cool looking and will protect my head when I do crash, which doesn't happen often but I am more ready than ever.

The other day I ripped a huge rock of a climb I was on and fell leading with this rock in my hands. It crashed into my shin, gouged me deeply and then went bouncing towards my belayer. As the gri gri caught me he was able to go hands free and get out of the way of the falling rock. Without this added technology I would have been let go of and crashed into the ledge below me with this 30lb rock smashing into my shin. It would have been a much different story. This is a must have piece of gear. Period.

First off I like the colour scheme, its simple and cool.
This baby is comfortable and streamlined. The warp technology does distribute the weight well without adding bulk. I love how it feels so minimalist but is so burly.

The future on your wrist. This watch does absolutely everything, and it does it really well. I doubted how well it would gps my mountain biking, since the trails are under trees and the speeds I am moving. But it has been bang on, its amazing the routes are perfect. Its so easy to upload them onto movescount and look at your entire activity. It's also super easy to get your track and paste it into google earth . It will be so cool to see all my tracks overlayed onto google earth.

Its not too huge either, it does not feel much bigger than the Suunto Core, but it does so much more. If you are interested in your speeds, heart rates, routes, elevations essentially all aspects of your trip, this watch is for you.

I am amazed and blown away by it.
