Deleted my last review because it was a whine fest. Figured it out finally. First off it's a b*tch to install and adjust. And it doesn't take a 5mm allen wrench, it takes a "T25" little star allen key kind of like some deck screws and other screws are these days. And then I had to remove one of the TINY little C-clamps just to get it to fit tight on my saddle, which isn't some rare weird saddle, it's a Serfas with Ti rails. After all that it's a bomber little seatpost coupled with a Thomson collar so hopefully it doesn't get stolen. Originally I gave it 3 stars, but I'll kick it up to 4 now that I figured all that crap out, but I still think the design could be better especially the 5mm bolt, which is a joke. On sale for 47 bucks is nice! Or else I would have just got a Thomson.

So I just had to send this bag in because one of the seams came apart where the little triangle shaped piece is at the complete base of the zipper, near the foot box. This most likely never happens, and aside from that little misfortune, the bag is top shelf. Loft is great, and the large foot box is also a big plus for me for I'm a bigger dude, so I got the long, left-zip. Like always, Backcountry was great about replacing the bag within literally 3 days. I'm a big fan of Marmot's gear, and would recommend this bag for anyone in the mountains, I live in Montana so this bag is perfect for me. I team it with my old school Bibler I-Tent and I'm the driest dude in camp.

I never give anything 5 stars, but I love this laptop bag and wanted to give it 5. But I never give anything 5, unless it lasts 20 years. But I have a big, heavy HP 17 inch monster laptop, and it snugly fits into this case. And I can fit pens, paper, mp3, phone and even the AC cord in the side pocket. And I like the webber loops for a couple of carabiners, because you never know when you might need one. But this is strictly a laptop brief, you can't do much else with it, but that's what I wanted it for. Weather resistant, durable and strong. I would recommend. And the reason I got the yellow, is because I knew I would be the only one in my entire town that had it, so it would help if some dick thieved it. Otherwise I would have chosen black.

Bottom line....Best Tent Ever. Period.

I've had mine for over a decade and it's never let me down. I saw some other whiner post about how when you zip the door when it's raining water "pours" in.....all lies. It's called slap the door from the inside a few times to knock any water off the outside before you zip out. Anyways, if you're a hard backpacker or mountaineer and are thinking about saving a few bucks by rolling with something else, buck up and shell out the extra couple hundge and get the I-Tent. You will realize. The El Dorado kicks ass, too. And Black Diamond's custy service is top shelf.

By the way, all you guys are super jealous because I have the old school model before Black Diamond with the little chimney vent instead of the topside deal. Which is the cat's meow. Oh yeah, and some other dude said his is coming apart at the seams? Re seam seal it on a yearly, man, and unless the damage is too far along you should be good to go.

Sons Of Montana

I have a pair of Baffin's that aren't this model but they are super nice. I live in Montana and I use them when the snow is 2 feet or more, or out icefishing. I read some of the questions, and from my experience I have some input. I would never work in these. They're way too bulky and heavy, and no steel toe. Plus I could see falling or tripping in them if you were carrying something heavy through the snow or on ice. I always end up working in my old Vasque Apex boots with gators for work. I don't know much about working on power lines but I wouldn't reccomend it.
I think that these used to be made in northern Canada, where it gets mighty freezing, but alas, EVERYTHING is now made in china, so that would be my guess now. Makes me shake my head everytime I think about it.
Aside from that, these boots are great and your feet will never get cold, at least mine don't but they're the older kind still made up north. Love old school gear........
