A little too revealing with the thin solid fabric

Ibex Woolies 150 Zip T-Neck Top - Women's

Ibex Woolies 150 Zip T-Neck Top - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 July 24, 2012

Love IBEX. However, this specific Woolies top is just to thin, making it fairly see-through. I have IBEX Woolies in the striped version and this isn't a problem. In this specific top - just a little too revealing for me since it's supposed to be form-fitting and the material doesn't provide enough coverage in the solid color of black.

GREAT ski pants

The North Face Freedom Insulated Pant - Men's

The North Face Freedom Insulated Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 7, 2012

OK guys - this review is from a woman's point of view. I have these pants because the women's version is too low rise and not long enough for a tall (5'9") person. These are incredible ski pants and I have two pair (two seasons use out of one pair and haven't even worn the 2nd pair yet). I called TNF customer service for washing directions and have washed them at least four times with Granger's Performance Wash and sprayed with the XT Granger Waterproofing before hanging to air dry. They remain totally waterproof. I read somewhere that TNF rates these as totally waterproof through at least 18-20 washings and then the waterproofing lessens a bit without any additional treatment. I haven't had any wind issues and that's after sitting in a very cold snow/wind storm on a lift at Snowmass in February, 2012 - the kind of wind that has the lift chairs rocking. I typically wear them with a very lightweight merino base layer (Patagonia 2 or Ibex Woolies), although on a pretty cold day in Snowmass wore them with Patagonia merino 3 baselayer. Always toasty warm, totally dry, and I like the very light insulation - not hefty or bulky. Good, deep pocket design and amount of pockets. Great adjusting waist with velcro on the sides. I used the chimney venting while skiing in May at Blackcomb (the only time I've worn them without a base layer during spring skiing). Personally, I like the layer of insulation, rather than wearing unlined gear. I used the mens sizing chart and mine fit perfectly. Looking forward to wearing them in Portillo in August!

The North Face Deuces Triclimate Jacket - Women's

The North Face Deuces Triclimate Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 February 26, 2012

This is a GREAT jacket. The liner zips out and can be replaced with a number of TNF vests TNF folks gave me a list of compatible vests). Just wore it for a week at Aspen/Snowmass and it handled the bluebird days as well as those with biting, cold wind and snow. Fit is perfect and it is comfortable on the downhill as well as getting there on the lift. I chose TNF Nupste 2 down vest in gravity purple to go with the empire blue jacket color and both get lots of very nice comments together and separately. Backcountry.com has TNF Nupste 2 down vests too!

Bought this vest in the Gravity Purple and TNF Black. True to the size chart, comfy and warm. I get compliments each and every time I wear the Gravity Purple because people seem to love the color. Compatible with my TNF Deuces Triclimate jacket as a zip in. Continue to love TNF products and the Backcountry.com choices.
