This pack is stellar. Whether for a lightweight backpacker, ski and summit pack, or even for school books (if you don’t mind being that guy with the oversized backpack), the Eiger is the way to go. The straps and loops on the sides are as versatile as one could ask for when carrying tent poles, ice axes or tools, skis, or even a rolled up sleeping pad. The lid has three compartments for simple organization. The suspension system hugs your body and pivots with you like its part of your back, making it suitable for technical rock and ice mountaineering. My only beef is that with a full load, the sides of the frame tend to bow away from your back due to the single aluminum stay. This, however, is easily corrected through the use of the biospan straps which tighten the sides to your back with one quick tug. I totally recommend this pack for anyone who wants to beat the ten pound pack/tent/bag combo, or for anyone who likes to travel light in the backcountry either up or down the slopes.
