Okay granted, I got last year's model, so maybe they've improved but...I bought a pair at REI for a decent amount of money. I had them sitting in my closet for a couple months anticipating my next snowboarding venture. The VERY FIRST TIME I took them on a mountain, I went off a jump and landed a bit wrong (on my arse). Now I'm not fat by any means, and the fall, while certainly painful, was not that bad. Nonetheless, one of the metal snap closures completely broke, as in the metal actually split apart. I took them back to REI and thankfully, got a full refund. I opted instead for the slightly more expensive (but totally worth it) Smarty 686 3-in-1 cargo pant. I recommend you save yourself some hassle and do the same. These pants are cheap, and not in the good way. The Smarty 686 pants have been fantastic.
