Great Jacket

Marmot Mainline Precip Jacket - Men's

I was looking for a lower priced shell with some techy details. This jacket fit the bill perfectly. I use it in conjunction with a Mountain Hardware thermal layer, Cloudveil Serendipity Jacket, and nothing else. First trial was Jackson Hole. Performed perfectly in the sub-zero temps Jackson threw our way.

I highly recommend this jacket as an outer layer. Completely water-proof, and blocks all wind. Pit zips are easy to reach. Powder skirt seems fairly functional. Jacket moves with your body, with no stiffness. The hood stow-away is the only downside. It goes in easily, and zips up fine. It just looks silly, and does not lay down at all. Maybe after a few washes it will work better.
