Arc'teryx Vertical Jacket - Men's

March 8, 2012

The velcro tabs on the writst look as if they are barely touching the hook end of the velcro. On another ArcT. jacket this was a problem for me in that it didn't latch down when totally open and when I went to make it snug it came across only part way. I can't figure out why they would place them where they did except to think that some person in the factory sews them on without thinking about that position. This lack of thought on something so basic would keep me from buying it. This VERTICAL looks great otherwise.

Arc'teryx Beta AR Jacket - Men's

October 13, 2010

Read that the hood is fixed. Does it at least fold up and store out of the way so that it does not catch the wind while skiing for example? I don't mind a hood for hiking but while skiing it would drive me crazy from flapping around and catching the wind. So far, most ARc. jackets I've tried on don't have removable hoods or even storable ones. I own a couple but no hoods came with the ones I got for that reason. Arc. does not seem to state in their ads and product information descriptions of this sort. They even use photos that imply they fold up nicely out of the way when they do. Also, the velcro straps at the ends of the sleeves are often misplaced, barely holding on when open and too much receiver end velcro showing when closed. Has this been corrected on this newer jacket?

Descente Wombat Glove

October 13, 2010

Did you know it does not sell a product to call a wombat, a rodent?
It implies that you have no idea what you are talking about since a wombat is not a rodent. It implies that if you don't know about the animal you named the product for, that you don't understand your product either. And here I was thinking that to convert a glove into a mitten was a pretty neat idea. EJLMotiveForce@bikerider.com.
By the way, a wombat and many other animals from Australia is a marsupial.
