Native Watercraft Inuit 12.5 Kayak

May 30, 2011

I paddled a Perception Carolina 13.5 for several years and really liked the boat. After selling it a couple of years ago, I'm looking to get back into the sport. I will use the boat for two night trips on Class I-II (sometimes mild III) rivers. So my questions are:
1. Based on my usage, can you compare the performance of the Carolina vs the Inuit
2. Do you think an Inuit 12.5 can carry enough gear for 2 or 3 day trips
3. Do you think an Inuit 14.5 will be responsive enough in the event I encountered Class III water
4. I've read different thoughts on who will fit in an Inuit 13.5. I'm 5'10 and 185lbs. I'm assuming the 13.5 would be too small for me. What do you think?
Sorry for being long winded, and thank you for your help.

Rating for this product: 4 January 30, 2006

This is the best hat I've used in very cold weather. I tried it on a recent ski trip, and really liked it. It was 4F one day and my head stayed warm. It's very comfortable, and seems to be durable like most Mountain Hardwear products. The only thing I didn't like was the cone head effect. Otherwise I'd give it a 5 rating.
