Castelli Viva Thermo Skully Cap

Castelli Viva Thermo Skully Cap

Rating for this product: 5 October 27, 2012

Amazing how warm yet so thin. I was wearing this one day when it was cold out in the morning at the beginning of the ride, around 45 degrees, held up very well. Was still wearing it when it got warm out, around 60 degrees, got incredibly sweaty and the hat absorbed all of that sweat, climbing a total of 6,000 feet that ride total, and the hat went from slightly damp to dry in 15 minutes or less. Warm and very wicking. Great product. Fits perfectly flush to your head. No bunching at all under the helmet. Totally covers ears and their lobes.

Louis Garneau Corsa Bib Shorts

April 28, 2012

Not at all. Have these myself. But the red part however, gets lighter when you put it on and the material stretches. So the vivid red becomes somewhat pale-ish. Also for what it may be worth, these run true to size but some who don't know what they're buying might say they run small. They are "compression fit" first of all and these are meant to fit like a second skin to be as aerodynamic as possible. You will feel like a pro wearing these with their matching jersey.

They didn't please me...

Pearl Izumi Cyclone Glove

Pearl Izumi Cyclone Glove

Rating for this product: 2 April 28, 2012

Not warm. I wear these gloves when it's too cool for finger-less. There's no way I'd wear these at all if the day was going to be colder than 60 degrees! There is simply the outer shell and that's it. No lining. In fact all you feel is the stitching on the fronts of your fingertips trying to nestle between your fingernail and finger. They definitely not windproof or waterproof by any means. Not that they claim to be, but what I'm getting at is that they not even resistant. Stitching is also starting to come undone on the wrist part of one of the gloves. I would not buy again. Bought an extra large because I have long fingers not fat hands. There was a lot of width room, great if I did have fat hands, but the XL did not accommodate long digits. So I don't have enough room for the length of my fingers but I've got some bunching in the palm from the extra material that's not getting filled out.

That link I believe will answer your question. It looks as though the chamois-seam is the same on the 2.0 as in the previous.

Can the Red crankset be combined with the Force gruppo? Or do I have to stick with a Force crank?

SRAM Red Crankset BB30

March 6, 2012

Does this crankset work when combined with an Ultegra gruppo? I have an Ultegra gruppo but I'm converting to a BB30 bike frame. So I'm wondering if I'd still be able to keep my group set if I just change over to this crank.

Steep hills? No problem!!

Shimano Ultegra FC-6750 Crankset - Compact

Shimano Ultegra FC-6750 Crankset - Compact

Rating for this product: 5 September 2, 2011

I have this crank paired up with an Ultegra 6700 rear derailleur, a Dura Ace 7901 chain, and a Dura Ace BB... AMAZING! It's so smooth the best way to understand just how smooth is to imagine what it feels like to scoop a knife through room temperature butter. And it's so quiet. This compact crank is amazing in the hills. I like going fast but nothing ridiculous, being that cars can always jump out of anywhere. So if you just love to ride, far and long like me, you'll come across a lot of hills. Some really steep ones too. With this crank set up I still have yet to try a hill that really made me feel like I was working really hard. A great investment.

Shimano Dura Ace 7900 Bottom Bracket

Shimano Dura Ace 7900 Bottom Bracket

Rating for this product: 5 September 2, 2011

It's real simple here... if you're gonna do Ultegra why wouldn't you just pay 5 more dollars for this BB? How often can you really upgrade from Ultegra quality, which is great, to Dura Ace quality which is even greater?

Shimano Ultegra RD-6700 Rear Derailleur

Well think of it like this. There's not a HUGE difference BUT, would you rather drive a Lexus or a Toyota? Exactly. They both are cars. They both will get you from A to B, but the Lexus would make a nicer more comfortable ride.

Louis Garneau Corsa Bib Shorts

Louis Garneau Corsa Bib Shorts

Rating for this product: 5 July 20, 2011

This is one kick ass bib short! The chamois is definitely the best I've ever sat on to date. At first I was skeptical about spending so much on a bib short, when normally $175 would be my limit. But I said the hell with it and went for it. And I'm glad I did. They are on the snug side but that's how they are supposed to be. They are compressive fitting. The shoulder straps are very well fitting, so there's no more getting annoyed at loose shoulders straps here. And if you do get this bib you have to get the matching jersey. Sure it's an investment but you've never felt like such a champ rocking this kit. It's also the fastest drying kit I've ever owned. And I mean sweat here, not water!
