Icebreaker Balaclava Lite

Rating for this product: 5 January 26, 2012

This balaclava was just the right weight for camping in the Alaskan tundra with temperatures between 0 and 30 degrees. At night, I was warm and could breath easily.

Almost Perfect

Icebreaker BodyFit 260 Crew - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 January 26, 2012

This is a great product with one exception: the sleeves are loose at the wrist. Icebreaker should have stitched some elastic material into the seams at the wrists to draw the cloth back to the skin.

I'd prefer a slightly different color, but, for function, comfort, and price, you cannot beat this price.

Warm from Head to ....

Icebreaker Glacier Beanie

Rating for this product: 5 January 26, 2012

I was warm from head to toe thanks to my Icebreaker Wool Glacier Beanie. I hiked Alaska’s arctic tundra for more than two weeks over a blanket of snow. Temperatures were never above freezing. I wore my beanie day and night.

SmartWool Trekking Heavy Crew Sock

SmartWool Trekking Heavy Crew Sock

Rating for this product: 5 January 26, 2012

I hiked Alaska’s arctic tundra for more than two weeks over a blanket of snow. Temperatures were never above freezing. My two pairs of SmartWool Heavy Crew socks kept my feet warm and dry. My only regret was that I did not purchase four pairs. The cold, damp environment would prevented my boots from drying through the night. Thankfully, the wool fiber absorbed the moisture trapped in the boot to protect my feet.

My titanium long spoon provided the necessary reach to get to the bottom of my Mountain House meals when traveling the arctic tundra for more than two weeks. I purchased a second long spoon as an extra immediately upon returning to civilization.

Backcountry.com Titanium Cookset - 700ml Pot /Spork

Rating for this product: 5 January 26, 2012

My titanium cookware was among my most useful pieces of gear when traveling the arctic tundra. The 1-liter Nalgene water bottle fits perfectly inside to conserve space. I loved this product so much that I purchased another immediately upon returning to civilization.
