I have to preface this review with the fact that I got a smokin' deal on this jacket so the was value is absolutely incredible.
Stoic stuff seems to fit me (6' 190 lbs, long torso bought the L) very well which, to me, makes or breaks clothing. It can have great features etc. but if it doesn't fit me it isn't worth it to me.
The sewn-through baffles are well filled with down except maybe at the top by the shoulders but that's not where a ton of your heat output is, right? Also with a pack on it's irrelevant as well.
I haven't noticed a difference in warmth between the down baffles and primaloft insulated areas either so that seems to have been well executed.
The fleece lining at the chin and in the pockets isn't the softest at first but it works fine.
The zipper tends to always get caught up when it hits the chest pocket which is a little annoying but not a huge deal.
I like the stretch cuff gaiter things on the sleeves but if you have gloves on and biggish hands you won't get your hands through them but I think it's better than a normal elastic cuff and I have to admit it, it makes the jacket look cooler. :)
Also the pertex shell is impressive (at least while new) for shedding light rain and the odd drops here and there for a bit. It also seems to breath fine.
Warmth is difficult to quantify as everyone is different etc. but I am pretty happy with it down to 35 F with nothing but a t-shirt underneath well fed, well rested and not moving.
It has a few stray and weird threads but overall the quality seems as good as anything these days. No down leakage yet either which is impressive to me.
Get it on sale and I think you'll be happy with it!
