Thanks so much for the great answer... you finally cleared it up for me! I ended up going for the Torrentshell as I do like the storm flaps and he doesn't need anything too technical as it is really just a jacket to throw on when it gets wet...as it so often does here in Scotland! It looks lovely and I will get him to come and review it when I give it to him next week... thanks again!

Patagonia Torrentshell Jacket - Men's

I know this question has been asked before so I'm sorry about this.. but I am really stuck.. I want to buy a jacket for my boyfriend and I really cannot decide between this and the rain shadow!! I have read that the zippers can be annoying on the rain shadow, but the hood is better than the torrentshell... What are the differences? Is the material different, more breathable in one than the other? Is the hood bigger in the Rain Shadow? Is one shorter than the other? Is there a zipper store for the hood in either of them? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Patagonia Better Sweater Jacket - Women's

I was so happy when I found this in the sale, as I had been watching out for it for a while after reading so many good reviews... It arrived today and when I tried it on I was so disappointed as I found it to be a very boxy fit, the pocket on the arm is just annoying, and it feels quite stiff and not very comfortable when bending my arms... I am 5'10 145lbs and I found the medium was too long for me, overall it just did not fit me at all. Good points are that the feel of it is lovely, really soft, and the fleece on the inside is really nice too.

Thanks very much, that's a great help. I have also been looking at the Guide jacket as it seems to be quite a bit more durable than this one.. Do you have any recommendations between this and the Guide? Or are they too different to compare? Which one is more wind resistant?

Hey,

I'm trying to decide whether to get this jacket or the Alpine Wind jacket for cycling, hiking and everyday use. Is there much difference between them? I prefer a slightly longer length so would the Traverse be better for that?

I am currently trying to decide between this jacket and the Patagonia Traverse jacket. I will use it for hiking, cycling and everyday use. Anyone have any advice on which one to get? Is there much difference between them?
