I am lanky and 6'2". I picked up a large and it is fine when my arms are strait but can get a little short when bent or stretching. I don't know how much longer the XL is in the sleeves but I wouldn't want it any looser. Bottom line; it might be a little short in the sleeves to wear around town but is very good for a layering piece.
