Salomon Shogun Ski

November 29, 2011

I am 5'7" and skied the 182cm this past weekend and loved the length. They were solid and stable on early season soft snow. Very quick side to side and able to hold an edge...but again, it was very soft this past weekend

Salomon Shogun Ski

November 29, 2011

Any opinions on how well the Shogun works as an East Coast ski? In particular, how does it hold up on EC hardpack?

Blizzard Bonafide Ski

November 11, 2011

I am considering the Bonafides as my primary East Coast ski. I am a strong skier and spend the majority of my time in the trees, steep bumps, or steep groomers. Thoughts? BTW...I am 5'7" and 160lb

Love wearing this Shell

Arc'teryx Alpha SL Pullover - Men's

Arc'teryx Alpha SL Pullover - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 23, 2011

This is a great shell. I have worn it over the past three years for biking, hiking, spring skiing and for around town on rainy days and it has kept me dry and exceeded my expectations. My shell is a medium and it fits me well, but is a bit long. I am 5' 7" 162lb (atletic build). If I have a re-do, might go with a small.

Awesome Jacket

Arc'teryx Theta AR Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Theta AR Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 22, 2011

I have had my Theta AR Jacket for 7+ years and totally lkove it. First, it is a bomb proof jacket which shopws little wear after a ton of usage. I have thoroughly enjoyed it for hiking, skiing, plowing the driveway and cruising though town in foul weather. My only knock is that the hood is not helmet compatible (this is likely by design), so I have purchased the Sabre SV as my ski jacket for the 2012 season.

First Impression

Arc'teryx Sabre SV Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Sabre SV Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 October 22, 2011

Just received the Sabre SV Jacket in Squid Ink Small. The fit is very good...I am 5'7 162lb (athletic build) and I can wear two merino wool shirts and a Patagonia Hooded Sweater under this shell. The looser cut allows me full mobility across the shoulders.

I like the Squid Ink color which is a nice purple hue. The Arc Teryx logo is stenciled on which seems a bit cheesier than the older logo on my 7 year old Theta AR.And of course, this product is made in China which really bums me out. It just feels like the quality is slightly less than in prior years. However, i have not yet taken this shell onto the mountain as it is still early here in New England. I will report back in December with my thoughts on performance.
