Smart investment? I think not! Maybe worth $3.50, not $350.00.

Burton Driver X Snowboard Boot - Men's

Burton Driver X Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 1 August 30, 2010

So sorry to all you Burton lovers out there... but the speed zone system, doesn't seem quality AT ALL. I literally took the right boot out of the box, pulled the speed zone, and it didn't work. I thought it was me and thought maybe i don't know how to work this new gadget, but then I tried on the left and it pulled tight like it is supposed to. I wrested with the right boot and tried to make it work, but it just wouldn't snap tight... needless to say, I immediately got an RMA number and returned these bad boys. For the price and quality, I wasn't impressed because I'm not risking a powder day in the fate of a freakin boot. Imagine, being 11K feet up, read to descend, an epic canvas in front of you, and then your boot malfunctions and won't pull tight. Wow, can't even imagine it. All in all, i'm thinking Burton's quality has gone to shit, but still hopeful they'll bring the quality back. Maybe this is a sign that things shouldn't be made in China. This year, I bought the CUSTOM X WIDE 164 (which was made in Austria), and I'm really pulling for quality and performance here, but if i have any issues whatsoever, Burton will be dead to me, and I'll spread the word that the quality sucks. I'm a snowboarder of 19 years, lived in Aspen and Park City for quite awhile now, and have been through a lot of gear, so I know the feel and quality when I see it... all in all, i really like the ride of the boards, but I have broken several before. Hopefully this new board does the job and the company made a wise decision with producing boards in Austria, or I'm back to Ride, Lib Tech, and Never Summer. Good luck Burton! Seriously though, what's the deal with this piss poor quality in the boot? Maybe sacrifice some STEEZE for quality. I could really care less about a gold star on my boot or board, but I am more interested in performance in a blizzard! Give me a break! Jake, are you completely hands off the production of your products? I hope this message gets out. Best Regards!

Very comfortable

Mountain Khakis Granite Creek Short - Men's

Mountain Khakis Granite Creek Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 30, 2010

These shorts are very functional for everyday use. I like the side pocket b/c it holds my blackberry and wallet very nicely. I did go up a size to a 36 (usually wear a 34) based off of hearing they run a little small. This is true! I may even go up another size b/c once I put them in the washer (and then I hang dry) they seemed to be a little smaller. All in all, I'm happy with the shorts and the stain protection that they put on it. I have a yellow lab, he's always getting dirty, playing around, always jumping on me with his dirty paws. They wash very very well. I thought about giving these four stars based on them running a little small, but I love everything else about them. Highly recommend for casual kick around shorts that breath well, and wash great. Just go up at least a size!

Uhhhh, you need to be really tall!

Ibex Five-O Long Short - Men's

Ibex Five-O Long Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 July 29, 2010

I thought I was getting a real treat with these shorts, but I was sadly let down. Maybe they just aren't the right shorts for me. I'm 6'2" 190lbs, got the 36" waist, and these things were abnormally long. My girlfriend looked at me, and said... "those are weirdly long", so without a hesitation, I returned them. It may be the style in Southern Cal, but the other 49.5 states they don't fly. I gave them 3 stars b/c they actually fit my waist, the fabric was super soft, but my problem was the length. You be the judge for yourself. Highly recommend if you're 6'5" or taller.

Ruffwear Turnup Dog Toy

Ruffwear Turnup Dog Toy

Rating for this product: 4 July 24, 2010

The only place this toy turn's up is on the cement, which i don't like my dog just running around the cement. I load it in the chuck-it, and it really helps get the distance b/c once it hits the ground, the rubber get's more distance than a tennis ball. Good thing I bought two at a time, because I threw one in the lake and it sank to the bottom. All in all, my dog likes playing with it, but it's not his favorite. He's spoiled though...

Timbuk2 Strap Pad

Rating for this product: 5 July 22, 2010

What can you say about a padded strap? Not a whole lot. Fits great, feels great, looks great. If you have a timbuk2 and don't have a strap like this, pick one up. No brainer.

Patagonia Velocity Visor

Patagonia Velocity Visor

Rating for this product: 5 July 7, 2010

I love this thing. I wear running, golfing, casual days in the office... whatever. It's a nice piece to have in the arsenal so to speak. Most visors fit my head weird, but this one doesn't. They actually made this to fit perfect. It's comfortable to wear with the padded head band lining and the adjustable strap in the back. If you're looking for a visor that does it all, look no further.

Mountain Hardwear Juggernaut 45 Rolling Gear Bag - 2750cu in

Rating for this product: 4 May 26, 2010

Pretty cool bag. I like the features and how it's ready for someone to organize it neatly. Still debating whether or not it's worth $250. That would be my only gripe. I'm wondering if it's just the name that makes it expensive...

Outdoor Research Radar Pocket Cap

Outdoor Research Radar Pocket Cap

Rating for this product: 5 May 19, 2010

This hat is great. Protects your head from foul weather and is super lightweight and breathable. I use this hat for casual and jogging in the rain. I'm a little b/w the L and XL, they both fit my head fine, so on sizing, the measurements are correct. I'm trying to grow my hair out, so the longer it gets the better the XL fits my head. Highly functional and stylish.

Smith Nolte Sunglasses

Smith Nolte Sunglasses

Rating for this product: 5 May 17, 2010

I rock mine with chums as well because they are a little loose on the face and the chums make them a retro look even more. Chums make them a nice secure fit. I have a large face and these things fit pretty nice. Wouldn't change much about them. The inside is decorated with zebra print so it make's em' big pimpin. Recommend for the casual use only. Not a good idea for action sports. Nice boating glasses because the coverage is good.

Therm-a-Rest Dream Time Sleeping Pad

Therm-a-Rest Dream Time Sleeping Pad

Rating for this product: 5 April 28, 2010

I love this pad. I went from the thermarest Pro to this. It's practically night and day with the quality of sleep. If you're car camping, I would highly recommend this pad if you are one of those people that need quality sleep. Definitely worth it. The whole thing works.

Arc'teryx Hardface Glove - Unisex

Arc'teryx Hardface Glove - Unisex

Rating for this product: 3 April 19, 2010

Great glove, fits nice and snug. Be careful what you use them on. I skied in mine about 6 times this spring, and was starting to wear down the fingertips. Recommended use - shoveling snow, driving in a cold car, walking your dog. I know it's ARC' and the gear should be totally legit, but these are not the best items I have purchased from ARC'.

Arc'teryx Hyllus Hooded Fleece Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Hyllus Hooded Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 April 19, 2010

This jacket is my catch all jacket living in the mountains. I ski in it (warm days, not wind proof), lounge in it, wear it on dates, everything! It seems to treat me right every time i put it on. It's a bit spendy though. I would look at this piece as a catch all hoody. Nothing too special about it, just fun to wear.

I wear a size 12, and was concerned about these shoes getting stretched out. I went with the 11, and they did exactly what i thought they would do. Stretched out to be PERFECT in about 3 hours. Highly recommend, but recommend going 1/2 or full size smaller.

Arc'teryx Blade 24 Backpack - 1465cu in

Arc'teryx Blade 24 Backpack - 1465cu in

Rating for this product: 4 April 19, 2010

I use this pack to commute to and from work. The laptop sleeve is great and I feel pretty safe traveling with the computer because the bag is pretty bomber. It takes a little getting used to packing, but overall it fills my needs. Do not buy this bag if you want to throw a sweatshirt or a jacket in. It's strictly a laptop bag with one other slim pocket for notebooks and binders. Highly recommend for the business commuter. Arc'teryx stylin as usual. I like the way it fits, but I'm guessing it's not for everyone.

CRKT Lake 111 Aluminum Knife

Rating for this product: 5 February 19, 2010

This is a really cool little tool if you don't need it for much. I.E. if you stop for a min or two for a safety meeting and whip out your Lake 111 to cut up a fresh apple! Highly recommend for that. I also like the fact that you can take it apart and clean it. It's a cool knife, if you're a man of nature. Recommend.

Burton C60 Snowboard Binding - 09/10

Burton C60 Snowboard Binding - 09/10

Rating for this product: 4 February 19, 2010

Love these bindings, but are a little delicate. I snapped the highback at Aspen Highlands, and it totally ruined my day. It was my fault for playing around in the trees. Sent them back and Burton had a lag time of about 4 weeks. Anyway, the bindings ride great, but if you're a big dude like me, 6"2' 195lbs roaring down the mountain, you may want to reconsider going with the Triad's or the Cartels. A little extra weight won't be bad for Big Mtn riders. Love the feel! Recommend if you have the cashflow.

This is a great piece to have in your closet. It's warm and soft like hot chocolate after an 8 hour day in the backcountry. Just can't beat it. Highly recommend picking up. It packs away nicely in a helipack. Warmth to weight ratio is MONEYYYYYYYYYYY! Don't think... pick it up.
