This thing was so comfortable that I couldn't believe it. The kidney pack is very comfortable and carries the weight nicely. Shoulder straps are also very comfortable. Tons of room in the bag with good access point from side zipper. Didn't care for the zipper configuration on the sleeping bag pocket though, its too squared and hard to zip/un-zip when the bag is full. But thats a minor gripe. The top pouch unfastens very easily to make a convenient lumbar pack--unfortunatley this requires also unfastening the hip belt/kidney pad assemly which is not so convenient. Worth it though if you are hiking in to a base camp for a multi-day.

I packed it on an overnight, carrying all of mine and my wifes gear with absolute comfort and room to spare. This pack is great for walking, especially for long distances. I've also taken it backpaking across Euroupe from Madrid to Munich to Prague and it filled that role nicely as well.

This summer I hope to get a few multi night hikes into the backcountry to really check it out; but for now the initial impression is very positive.

Good sock, but thin.

Stoic Merino Ski Sock - 2-Pair

Stoic Merino Ski Sock - 2-Pair

Ireally liked this sock, its comfortable, breathes well, and gives great compression in all of the right places. It goes all the way knee high on me, and I'm 6'3''. However--its thin!

I was used to skiing with Wigwam socks I had to readjusts how I wear my boots. Also, for those super cold days you had better stay active, otherwise your feet will freeze in your boots while you wait in the lift line.

Great for running and hiking

Backcountry.com Goat Wool Flexfit Hat

Rating for this product: 5 March 30, 2010

I got this hat for running and hiking, which incidentally are the only things that I wear hats for. I like that is has a wool blend.

The medium fits me great (7 1/4 head size) and it fits my wife too. Thats why flex fit rocks.

It has not yet developed a sweat ring (which is what I hate about cotton hats) but it is still pretty chilly out so time will tell.

I recommend it; its a great way to represent the backcountry website/lifestyle that it stands for.

Great pocket coffee tumbler, price is awesome!

Backcountry.com Dawn Patrol Vacuum Coffee Tumbler

I really like this tumbler because it fits easily into a cargo pocket. I carry it every day when I walk to work.

I have taken it on a few hikes and have brought it skiing several times. It is very durable. It keeps liquids warm for very long periods of time. It kept my coffee warm (at 2600 meters and -14C in Austira) for a whole afternoon on the slopes so that I had a nice steaming hot pick me up on every Gondola ride.

For the price I say buy it---so long as you already meet the quota for free shipping it makes a great add on, almost like a free gift.
