Be Careful with Size

I needed a warm jacket with a hood for winter hikingso I bought this jacket site unseen after reading all the wonderful reviews. The jacket met both of my requirements, except for one....size. I ordered small, my usual size; however, after wearing it a few times I realized it was a little too small....short in body and sleeves. I went to a competitor store in Denver and tried on a Medium before sending my jacket back for the next size up. But the Medium was too large. I've never bought a jacket online before because it's much easier to get the size right by trying it on in the store, but I thought I'd give it a try. The jacket itself is lightweight and very warm, which I think is a big plus for hiking. However, I'm a little disappointed with the size issue.
