I was able to pick one of these up on SAC for a ridiculous price and am so glad I pulled the trigger. After looking at All the pricier Arct'eryx Beta and Theta SV shells, I'm so happy I went with this. The Bombshell material is amazing(although no Gore-tex pro, it more than holds its own), the jacket is ridiculously light weight, and offers everything I want and need in a tech shell. A very similar fit to the Arct'eryx shells, I'm 6'1, about 190 with a fairly athletic build and the Large fits me perfectly. Slim, but just enough room for a few layers depending on the conditions. I have long arms and love the length of the arms on this jacket. Its always hard for me to find clothing that fits me because of the long arms and stoic always seems to nail this. The media pocket is a great touch and all the front pockets offer a ton of options. The two chest pockets especially are great if your sporting a pack with waist straps for easy access. Wrist gaiters are great, and are constructed much better than most jackets I've tried. The adjustable hood is a definite plus as well. I got the Bombshell Bibs to go with this(blue ones) and although they are bright as hell, they go together perfectly. I'm headed out to the rockies for a two week ski trip, I'll update my thoughts when I get the chance to fully test this baby out.
In conclusion, Stoic/backcountry nails another jacket perfectly. I'd easily pay the normal price of $259 but if you can get it on SAC or Tramdock for half off you won't be disappointed. My next goal is either the insulated Bombshell for the colder days, or the Welder HI softshell.
