Hurley OAO Belt

Hurley OAO Belt

Rating for this product: 5 January 17, 2013

This is a belt. It holds your pants up. Not much special, but I wanted to point out that the buckle does snap off allowing you to substitute whatever buckle you want on the belt. I use my several Nixon buckles without issue on this guy. Looks like leather without paying for it.

Sanuk Shorty Chill Slipper - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 17, 2013

I got these for my wife. She is a size 9.5 so I sized down so that she could wear these without socks. They ended up being too small so I got a 10 instead.

The fur inside is extremely soft! We were both quite surprised. The rest of the shoe is about on par with what you would expect from Sanuk. Very comfortable, unique style, but not much traction in the snow.

Not a Mobile Device

Skullcandy Vandal

Skullcandy Vandal

Rating for this product: 4 January 17, 2013

This thing is pretty big so it makes a great permanent dock. I wouldn't want to carry it around or try to move it room to room (especially since it is not rechargeable) but I use it as a radio in my garage and it works great there. One downside is that the different size inserts that make sure your iDevice seat properly on the charging plug don't allow for any extra room. This means I have to take the case off my phone every time I dock it. There is also a spine on each of the inserts so that the iDevice doesn't wiggle around and has support when you are pressing the screen/wheel. This keeps it from kinking the connector and is a nice feature. I also really like the bass/treble adjustments and I am able to tune my music correctly for the size room and volume I am using. Oh, and who doesn't love a remote. Overall I wouldn't want to pay $179.99 for this thing, but at the sale price its not a bad buy.

Great Active Tee

Backcountry.com Logo T-Shirt - Men's

Backcountry.com Logo T-Shirt - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 June 23, 2011

These shirts are great active shirts. These new colors are a bit thinner than the old ones with the new organic cotton and run a size smaller than most other branded shirts making them best for active persuits. If you want something normal sized to run around town I would order a size up - if you want something athletic cut and cool for the trail or crag, this will fit the bill nicely.

Speaking to the length: I just ordered mine (heather gray) about a month ago and it is definitely NOT a tall T. Im an average sized guy at 5'9" and the XL is just long enough to cover a belt on my jeans but not much more. We may have adjusted the length on the new colors based on previous reviews.

Singletrack - Many Uses

Ruffwear Singletrak Pack

Rating for this product: 5 June 21, 2011

My dog (and I) love this thing. She is a 55lb Pitbull (mostly muscle - athletic build) and the Medium fits her perfectly. If you take a few minutes to test fit and size this thing right at home it fits perfectly on the trail and doesn't move a bit. It has good padding and I even use it to pick her up over big boulders that she cant get over herself.

Pros: Orange color and reflectors make it easy to spot when I wouldn't otherwise be able to see her in the woods. Water bottles included (0.5 L ea). Light enough duty to not restrain her activity at all but still carries water, snacks, collapsable bowl, poo bags, and small tie out. Perfect fitment with the straps. Very tough materials.

Cons: When you use one water bottle it makes the pack lopsided so you have to even out the water in both bottles each drink stop. Top harness loop is not very strong.

Overall, I was really happy with this thing and I leave her collar on as well, so if/when I need to leash her I just use that. This pack wont hold more than a days trip worth of gear, so if you are backpacking get a bigger one, but otherwise this pack is the perfect size for anything from walking to the park to a full day hike. I used a Sea To Summit X-Bowl Collapsable Bowl as my water dish and it fits in the pack.

DAKINE Ninja Studs

Rating for this product: 3 December 15, 2010

These are pretty good little stomp thingys, but they do come off. Granted, I put mine on in the parking lot of the resort and so thats probably my problem, you will want to put them on properly with a blow dryer like it recommends. Good news, there are actually 9 of these in the pack like the picture shows (not 6) and I can only fit like 6-7 of these on my board without it looking too cluttered, so you have extras to replace if they do fall off. Overall, for $10 they are minimalist which is great and get the job done.

Same Reliable Cartels

Burton Cartel Snowboard Binding

Burton Cartel Snowboard Binding

Rating for this product: 4 November 5, 2010

I have really enjoyed my Cartels. They are one of Burton's tried and true bindings. Mid flex, comfy footbed, and pretty plush but minimalist straps as well with no pressure points. You CAN find more comfortable straps but they are usually 5lb pillows. The B3 gel on the footbed is legit, and there are pleanty of adjustable features like you would find on most high end bindings.

I also always love Burton's ratchets, they run smooth and last for quite a while. I usually strip my straps way before the actual ratchet teeth and I crank the holy crap out of my bindings. Replacement straps are $5 at my local shop.

I wear an 8.5 Burton boot and have these in a Medium. All my straps and adjustments are in their middle positions. They could go smaller or bigger still.

Cheaper Than A Visit To The Dentist

Burton Whammy Bar Snowboard

Burton Whammy Bar Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 October 28, 2010

In the sea of sub $400 jib boards how do you pick one? The answer lies in the Whammy Bar. This board is not just another noodle with a weak core to make it "jibby". Its not only a good quality snowboard, but has the spoon tech that slightly lifts each edge like a...well...spoon between your bindings so you can get your 50s on lock down without knocking out your front teeth when you meet Mr. Rail after catching an edge. Since its only between the bindings your overall board control is not affected on the rest of the mountain.

As a soft jibby board with V rocker tech, this thing will be the best in a quiver as your second park day board for all mountain riders or an only board for the park rat or urban guy who hardly ever cruises the rest of the resort. V rocker still floats like crazy in the pow though if you are so inclined. I see this spoon tech being the next evolution in jib boards and is SUPER helpful especially for the progressing rider transitioning from boxes to rails.

If you can find one, I highly recommend trying to get your hands on the Restricted colorwave with Bob Marley themed graphics. The thing looks siiiiiick.

Burton Whammy Marley Restricted Snowboard

Burton Whammy Marley Restricted Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 October 28, 2010

Usually our photo department does a good job of taking good pictures, but we didn't even begin to do the Whammy Marly justice in this one. I am usually the guy who yells as my friends for picking gear by style over features and fuction, but if you are looking at the Whammy anyways: get the Marley Restricted. It has a thick clear coat top sheet over the graphics which makes it look super deep like an ice cream paint job. The red/green/yellows are also super vibrant. Not neon just poppy.

To the important things with this board, the concave middle is the biggest selling piece. Its slightly lifted at each edge like a spoon so you can get your 50s on lock down without sacrificing your front teeth on an edge catch. Its in the middle of the board though in between the bindings only, so edge control is not affected on the rest of the mountain.

Super soft jibby board with V rocker tech, this thing will be the best in a quiver as your second park day board for all mountain riders or an only board for the park rat who hardly ever cruises the rest of the resort. Burton ADL Hat - 09/10

Burton ADL Hat - 09/10

Rating for this product: 5 October 28, 2010

Killer hat. Nothing special tech wise, but it fits really deep which I like. Its especially nice if you have long hair or dreads so it looks like the hat is over your head instead of chilling on TOP of your head. Mine also ran a bit big. Not enough to size down with, but I am normally between a 7 3/8 and 7 1/2 but this 7 3/8 fits right inbetween instead of the normal tight 7 3/8. I think its mostly because of the depth. Also has a pretty oversized brim which looks dope and doesn't start to curve on its own. Pick your color and get you some!

Hail Yeah!

Burton Hail Restricted Snowboard Boot - Men's

Burton Hail Restricted Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 28, 2010

I really like these boots if used for what they are intended for. They are pretty freaking soft, but they are an ultralight park boot so they are supposed to be. If you are looking for the best mix of soft tweakability while still having a boot that fits right without a ton of heel lift these just may be it for you. They feel surprisingly shoe like actually which feels really good. The EST footbed is not canted forward so your foot pressure is distributed all over the footbed just like a regular shoe instead over the ball of your foot. That, along with the soft flex and light weight, almost makes them feel like I have a sneaker on. The Restricted colorwave only adds to the shoe like feel as they match a pair of my DVS skate shoes almost exactly.

Also, Burton finally swapped out their liner lace locking mechanism so its not that stupid yellow tab anymore. This new one is MUCH more user friendly and a bit more substancial as well. Doesn't look like it will break any time soon. I wear a size 10 skate shoe, 9.5 slipper, and 8.5 snowboard boot. These fit perfectly for me like snowboard boots do at an 8.5. I basically run 8.5 across the board (Burton, Ride, Thirty Two, Northwave)

Rating for this product: 5 October 28, 2010

These things are some of the most comfortable boots I have ever worn in my life. They have a foam like sole on the inner lining which adds a super cushy comfy feel to the boots. They are traditional lacing which is good for getting your EXACT fit dialed down. About a 6/7 flex is perfect for the true all mountain rider looking for the best in comfort. Also, Burton finally swapped out their liner lace locking mechanism so its not that stupid yellow tab anymore. This new one is MUCH more user friendly and a bit more substancial as well. Doesn't look like it will break any time soon.

Great Beginner Binding

Burton Custom Snowboard Binding

Burton Custom Snowboard Binding

Rating for this product: 5 October 28, 2010

I give this binding 5 stars in the bindings under $199.00 category. These are about the best learner bindings I have found out there. Easy in and out with good ratchets, soft flex for learning goodness, and value priced. Decent ankle straps that are not super pillowy comfortable but not hard at all. Didnt give me any pressure points or anything. The toe strap is meant to be worn over the toe which I like, but if you want a traditional toe strap steer clear of this one.

Size 8.5 Burton boots fit in a Medium like a charm. Comes with all the baseplate discs you need for any board. I used mine on a 4x4 and 3D board.

I have really enjoyed my Cartels. They are one of Burton's tried and true bindings. Mid flex, comfy footbed, and pretty plush but minimalist straps as well with no pressure points. Easy Living Is The Bomb

Burton Easy Livin Flying V Restricted Snowboard

Burton Easy Livin Flying V Restricted Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 October 28, 2010

This is a killer snowboard. Except for you crazy powder hounds this board is one of the best boards you can buy. It basically has every piece of tech Burton has this year in it. Its super light, great mid flex for everything park and their hybrid "Flying V" rocker shape. I really prefer this shape over a traditional rocker and this board neither folds in half on me nor is super washy like the other rockers I have tried. I am 5ft9in tall 175 whopping pounds and ride the 55 all around the mountain. I have taken this thing out of bounds into the deep abyss of Utah powder but also use it 70% of the time for park slaying. That's the beauty with the Channel system...2 screws, slide your stance back, and you have a pow board all while your friends are still strapping in.

I rode these with Cartel ESTs which overall was a very pleasurable experience. I would recommend this board to anyone who...well...anyone.

A Tent Fit For The Gods

Marmot Thor 3 Tent: 3-Person 4-Season

Marmot Thor 3 Tent: 3-Person 4-Season

Rating for this product: 5 July 15, 2010

Thor is a completely appropriate name for this tent. Not only is it fun to say to your friends and makes you feel more manly "I'm bustin out the THOR" but the tent truly is a beast. Admittedly I have not put this tent through Denali summit-like weather yet like its meant to take, but have never had a problem with it ever. Once this thing is staked down (at the like 10 main stake points) a nuke would bounce right off of it. Also, there are so many fly adjustments and guy wires you can set this thing up quick and just prepare for rain, or you can take time and tweak every part of the fly to account for uneven terrain and/or snow drifts. The poles also attach with a clip to the staking tabs so a severe wind removing the poles from their eyelits will not compromise the structural integrity of the tent.Initial setup is a tad confusing although I successfully did it without looking at the directions, but once you get the first time figured out its a breeze in the future.

The interior is very roomy both floor and ceiling wise. I didnt feel at all cramped in there or claustrophobic which can happen with my backpacking tent. It has two super nice vents to avoid clamyness as well. The vents have multiple layers, so you can just open the interior exposing the bug net or you can then open the bug net and pop out the little chimney shoots in the fly for a vent directly outside. There are also pockets built into the tent walls down each side of the tent wall and many loops and gromits to add more gear lofts, etc to the top. Vestibule is also substancial for just about anything you would need to do in there in bad weather.

Overall this is my favorite tent I have ever used without taking weight into account. I would use this thing every time I camped if it was just a little lighter to take on my pack everywhere. Truly an amazing 4 season tent.

Super Awesome

Big Agnes Copper Spur UL3 Ultra Light Tent: 3-Person 3-Season

Big Agnes Copper Spur UL3 Ultra Light Tent: 3-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 5 July 15, 2010

I love this Big Agnes tent. As mentioned by others, I dont want to say all the same stuff over and over, but read the other reviews. My favorite thing about this tent besides the weight is that it basically sets itself up. I tried a little experiment and could literally snap the poles together with one hand my shaking it in the air. Super fast setup and with only two poles super simple as well.

The only downside is with the color and lightweight material of the fly, the moonlight will illuminate the crap out of this tent. Sometimes I feel like I am in a snowglobe or something because the moonlight will come through and light up the tent. Bad thing if you need total darkness to sleep, but its not so bad that I would trade this tent for any other backpacking tent out there.

Fashion Statement - Not For An Audiophile

Nixon Wire 10mm Headphone

Nixon Wire 10mm Headphone

Rating for this product: 3 July 15, 2010

Good idea, just needs to be tweaked a bit by Nixon. Before these I didnt think it was possible for Nixon to do anything wrong, but these headphones are mediocre for a price above others. They dont sound bad at all, just not $59.99 good. Compared to their Skullcandy FMJ counterparts these are lacking a phone mic, sound a bit tinny, and the bass is not as full.

These are pretty light though, and I like the braided cord that came on my Black ones (black/silver not all black). The only bummer about the braid is that it does make a scratching noise when the music is off rubbing against itself and your clothes. Who has their headphones in and is not listening to music? Again, though, the FMJ has a braided phone without the scratching issues.

Overall, nice bud but just not a VALUE headphone. Case, accessories, and styling is sick though...you cant deny them that.

Best Bud Around For The Money

Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket w/Mic Bud Headphones

Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket w/Mic Bud Headphones

Rating for this product: 5 July 7, 2010

I have tried just about every bud style headphone out there, and these are my favorites for the money. The white ones I use have a fabric wrapped cord so it doesn't get super easily tangled (like the Nixon buds) but unlike the Nixon's it doesn't cause the scratching noise when you don't have your music playing. As far as music quality goes, it sounds about the best of any bud I have heard under $100. The base is nice and full and only makes the crappy thump noise on SUPER base heavy songs at full volume on my iPod. If I notch the volume down 1 or 2 (which I probably should do for ear health anyways) it goes right away. The trebble is also nice and crisp without sounding hollow like you usually find with cheap buds.

Speaking to the phone capabilities, it works with my BlackBerry Storm, BlackBerry Curve, and HTC MyTouch 3G. I also have an iPhone in the house and it works with that as well. There is a mute/answer call button on the microphone which is handy although it wont work to hang up the phone call. As far as ambient noise goes, I know the other reviewer had some problems, but I literally use these things to talk on the phone while I am riding my freaking MOTORCYCLE! I just put the cord inside of my helmet up to the microphone part. I ask people all the time and everybody can hear me fine and nobody hears ambient noise or wind. Its a bullet bike and those things rev super high, and I am not going slow ;-)

These things also come with a small, medium, and large size ear bud cones as well as 2 pairs of marshmellow like squishy ones that you squish small and they expand in your ears. Also comes with a little fabric carrying case.

Board Short Measuring Stick

Billabong Rising Sun Board Short - Men's

Billabong Rising Sun Board Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 7, 2010

I now measure all other board shorts compared to these. Top quality. The material is nice and thick and feels more like a quality canvas than the super thin silk material most others are made out of. They still dry just as fast as well and I have not experienced any chafing or uncomfortableness down there. Speaking of...the thicker material also leaves a little bit to the imagination when wet instead of shrink wrapping to your legs and exposing the boys.

Also, I would actually trust the pockets to hold something like my keys or cell phone when chilling around the pool in these. Another thing I love is that the little sun rays are additional pieces of fabric sewn on the pants, not just screen printed which is super nice. Waist is also thick. Overall these are just freking money.

Basic Board Shorts Made OG With Nomis Flare

Nomis OG Plaid Board Short - Men's

Nomis OG Plaid Board Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 July 7, 2010

Great basic board shorts. Nice and thin like most (quick drying) with nothing really special about them. In traditional Nomis style the stripes are not completely solid (silly in my opinion). The stripes are exactly like the detailed view above with little breaks in the lines. These board shorts do run about 1 inch bigger than other board shorts, so I have to rock mine with boxers. I don't think its enough to warrant a whole 2' size down, but if you are in between sizes go for the smaller one.

Great Materials, Bad Design

Nomis 31 Flavors T-Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Nomis 31 Flavors T-Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 July 7, 2010

I got the black one of these, and as usual with all my Nomis gear fits like a champ. The sleeves are made of a stretchy cotton spandex mix which is awesome. I don't see many long sleeve tees around with that, and it shows off the pythons nicely. The sleeves were also nice and long and the Nomis embroider on the left wrist area is a nice touch.

The reason I give this shirt 3* is because of the screen printing. For instance, I have the black one and the torso of the shirt is actually white cotton. All the black and grey parts you see is a screen print over the white shirt. This is ok, but the problem comes in when you stretch the shirt at all. The white of the cotton base shows through as the screen print cracks and it looks totally wierd. I also don't trust the colors to stay through a few washes as almost all screen printed shirts I have crack and fade after a few washes. Just a logo, thats ok, but the whole shirt front...sounds like a bad idea to me.

Its A Chalk Bag

Arc'teryx C30p Chalk Bag

Arc'teryx C30p Chalk Bag

Rating for this product: 4 June 18, 2010

Basic little chalk bag. I double everything that Blake Oliver
said below me. The "lime" color is definately more a pea green than a lime. This bag is also surprisingly small. I could not fit my chalk sock in it (Metolius Super Chalk Eco Ball). Also, I couldnt figure out how to remove the strap without cutting it off. I know others have found a way, but I couldnt for the life of me. I may just be a little stupid though. Great basic features, but you have to want a small bag or climb with minimal gear it works great.

Terramar Dri-Release No Show Sock - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 June 18, 2010

I echo the comments of mightymse17 reviewer below me. They are not "no show cut", lo cut would be a little more accurate. They also run big. The size L (7-11) were WAY too big for my size 10 feet. Other than that, they are soft and thin which is awesome if thats what you are looking for.

Pleasantly Surprised

DC MLF Snowboard

DC MLF Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 May 5, 2010

I figured that the DC boards would be stiff and hard to initiate turns on for some reason and thought after I got this thing I could complain about how they need to stick to making shoes and putting stickers on racecars. Actually the opposite is true. This is now my #1 pow board. It has a great blend of backcountry stiffness while retaining a park playfulness I wasn't expecting it to have. Definately not a park noodle, but thats the beauty of it. If you are looking for a playful pow board or are a true all mountain rider this is DEFINATELY a great choice.

The base is not as fast as some other boards I have, but I imagine it will take tree and rock beatings like my ultra sintered park boards will not. I love the pop in this board. It has an initial spring like resistance, but as soon as you give it a little energy behind your ollie the board folds right in half ready to obey.

Soft enough to jib, stiff enough to take big booters and powdery tree lines, this is my favorite cambered board to date.

DC Versatile Skate Shoe - Men's

DC Versatile Skate Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 5, 2010

Alot of other good reviews, but to recap these things are light which is super nice. They are, well, versatile as the name would imply as I use them for everything from playing Call Of Duty to running at the gym. The colors are way rad as you can see. They are just flashy enough to get a comment from a nice young lady if she is looking at you, yet wont get you kicked out of her Dads house for looking like a clown. I wish there was a little more blue on them, but other than that be-a-utiful. I always wear my skate kicks big, but my usual skate shoe size 10 fit in these as well.

The box includes: 1 left shoe, 1 right shoe, 1 pair of laces (yellow with mine), some sweet stuffing, and a 2x2 DC sticker.

Nomis Fade T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Nomis Fade T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 12, 2010

This shirt has 5% spandex because you want it to return to shirt shape after the ladies get done ripping this off your body as if you were in a double pitts to chesty commercial. That has been my experience so far with it at least. Oh, and it fits true to size, maybe a tad smaller than other 100% cotton shirts. Comfy.

My screen shows the Navy as black, but the shirt is defiantely Navy (blue) as the title would imply. I wear a large, got a large, and fit in a large. The screen print is not super stiff which is refreshing.

DC Opti T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 12, 2010

Fits about true to size. I wear a L in most all shirts, and this L was great on me. I ordered an XL as well just incase, and the thing was a frekin tent. I was surprised in the difference between the two sizes. Not steezy long, just super wide on the XL. The red is beautiful and has not faded seemingly at all even through some washes so far.

Volcom Stone Suit - Men's

April 5, 2010

The thighs on these pants are definately not baggy at all. I am 5'9" 175 and the thighs on my XL are more along the tailored look. They are not super skinny looking on me, but if I cross my foot across my knee when I sit I definately feel the pants get tighter around my thighs. I say go for it, but order before the week of your buddies wedding incase the suit isn't right for your build.

Volcom Stone Suit - Men's

April 5, 2010

I am a 42R (5'9" 175) and I got the XL. The pants are a 34 inch waist on the L and a 36 inch waist on the XL. They are both going to be long inseams - I had to get mine tailored alot, so I would probably say a L for you. It fits just about perfect on me if you are looking for a tailored looking suit. Its not SUPER skinny, but doesnt look like something out of "The Untouchables" either. Dang I love that movie...

@$$ Pads Are My Favorite

Demon Snow Flex Force Pro Low Armor

Demon Snow Flex Force Pro Low Armor

Rating for this product: 5 January 18, 2010

Don't feel like a pansy getting these, if you love to snowboard and hate not being able to sit at work the whole week after you wash out on that tail press and whack your tailbone then these are for you. Don't get me wrong, you will still remember not to lean back that far again, but it wort totally ruin your day riding or possibly worse your season, allowing you to enjoy snowboarding more. Anybody who hates on that, hates snowboarding.

I wear a size 36 jean, and these things in XL fit me pretty snugly. I think the L would have definately been too small. The padding is fairly substantial, but you can't tell I have them on underneath my pants. These are perfect for those icy park landings and learning to nail that back side board slide. Nobody likes to ruin their season having to put on the breaks too quickly after the little grom in front of you washes out on the backside of the landing. Buy these and add more days to your season.

VAS Entertainment Nice Try Snowboard DVD by People Creative

Rating for this product: 4 January 17, 2010

I really liked this video. I was not super stoked on a few vids that I saw this year, but this one stood out if you enjoy snowboard flics for the tricks. Almost all the riders showed some good stuff, including some INSANE urban jibs. I did not give it a 5 rating, because I enjoy more cinematic films like Travis Rice's "Thats It Thats All" and Mack Dawgs "Picture This" but outside of the camera work "Nice Try" is solid. All the music has a classic rock feel which you gotta love, and mine came with a year subscription to Transworld Snow Magazine as well! Score!

I keep this shovel in the back of my SUV for those off road adventures that you sometimes just cant help. Its a great size for your trunk or backpack and very sturdy. I was worried that the telescopic shaft would be flimsy, but it is not. I havent had to use this thing too much because we have not had TONS of snow to go 4x4 in, but its a hoss for its size and I would trust it anywhere. Gotta love the T-grip as well!

VAS Entertainment Forever Snowboard DVD by Forum

VAS Entertainment Forever Snowboard DVD by Forum

Rating for this product: 3 January 17, 2010

I was somewhat dissapointed in this years Forum video. Forum or Against 'Em was one of my favorites last year, but this year, Forever was somewhat lacking. There were some highlights like the "Youngblood" (amateurs) part and John Jacksons part which was out of this world. Dont get me wrong, this movie does not suck at all and has a very good mix of backcountry, resort, and urban riding but a few members of the team got injured last year resulting in short parts for some of your favorites and leaves you wanting more.

Great Binder If You Are Stuck With Channel

Burton Cartel EST Snowboard Binding - 09/10

Burton Cartel EST Snowboard Binding - 09/10

Rating for this product: 3 January 11, 2010

If the board that you are in love with is a Burton and you are stuck with the Chanel system, these bindings will be great for you.I have used many Burton bindings, and these are my favorite so far. They are fairly sturdy although they are about 95% plastic. The straps are pretty comfortable, and the ratchet system is solid. That having been said, I would MUCH rather be throwing down on a pair of Unions or even Forums instead of these. The Chanel system is a great idea, but you have to tighten the hell out of the bolts and even still they seem to move around on me from time to time. Ill look at my feet and my back foot will be at positive 5 degrees, and I think, "what the heck happened!?" Also, the strap fabric has started to come apart a little bit on me after only 6 days on the bindings, but some initial wear marks should be expected, I just hope they don't continue to come apart.Overall the flex is a little stiffer than my Union Forces, but is a good medium all mountain flex for me. I have these paired with my Easy Livin Flying V and they compliment each other nicely. My size 8.5 boots fit perfectly in the Mediums. Also, the white color look sweet, but the white suede fabric on the ankle strap gets dirty and turns tan/brown very quickly! They are my favorite and completely functional binders if you are stuck with Burton's Channel system, but if you can get out of it, look elsewhere for better function and durability.

3 Months Later... My left toe strap ratchet fell off at the lift once...literally just popped off (thank heavens I found it chilling right there after riding back) and a few weeks later, the spring in the same ratchet is sprung, so it still works to tighten the toe strap, but is constantly stuck at an open position and looks retarded. Also, the white plastic turns yellow if you leave the board exposed to the sun on your rack for more than a day. BUT I have changed my opinion about the channel system. Once you get it tightened down right, the channel is the shiznit! Super easy for switching stances for friends to ride your board, or swapping bindings between your boards. Also, GREAT board feel.

Great Park Board

Burton Easy Livin Flying V Snowboard - 09/10

Burton Easy Livin Flying V Snowboard - 09/10

Rating for this product: 5 January 11, 2010

After going through many boards this season, I have decided to stick with this Easy Livin in the park. It is by far my favorite park board. I love the Flying V shape that helps keep your pop and high speed stability where regular V-Rocker/Banana/Cambered boards just seemed to fold in half on me.Comparing this board to ones like the Lib Tech T Rice (C2 Power Banana), the board is very chattery and lacks magne-traction, making it not one that I would highly recommend for all mountain use. It is nice and light though which is great for park maneuvers and spins and although you feel every bump beneath your feet at high speeds, you also feel every inch of rails and boxes which is really nice for jibs. The base is fairly fast which is nice and I really like the blunt tip and tail shapes. The flex is about perfect for the park as Burton advertises. It is nice and flexy for easy butters and presses, but there is still plenty of pop and its been really durable so far.The Channel binding mounting system also has its positives and negatives. Although the basically limitless stance setup is great to get it dialed down exactly where you want, you have to tighten the HELL out of the binding bolts otherwise they will move around on you. Its frustrating and so far I have had to adjust and reset my bindings just about every day that I ride on them. I also do'nt really like Burtons bindings. This board is really a 4.5/5 stars for me because of this, but with a traditional binding pattern and some Union Force bindings would be a 5/5 for sure!Overall, if you spend alot of time in the park and are frustrated with your reverse camber super noodle flex but are done with rockers edge catching, get this board!

Volcom Stone Suit - Men's

Volcom Stone Suit - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 31, 2009

I wear a 42R in traditional department store suits and got the XL in this bad boy. The jacket fit perfectly and came with size 36 waist pants. The cut on this suit has a more skinny feel, but the XL looks really sharp on me, just not baggy. The XL is not nearly as skinny looking as the picture shows. The only bummer is that there are no shoulder pads, so the shoulder material kinda bunches up. The pinstripes are very thick though which I love. This suit is perfectly classy enough for any wedding or formal occasion, but the style will separate you from all the other suits around. Remember when ordering though, just like any other suit you will probably have to get the pant legs and jacket sleeves tailored. Looks even sicker with the optional vest.
