They don't have a volume control, however you can skip tracks by pressing the button twice which will bring you to the next song and three times takes you back to the previous song. Depending on your phone you can hold the button down to activate the voice command function or pause a song by pressing the button once.

Cain, they should just be plug and play. These do contain an in-line mic so they should work for most smartphones. However, there are certain Blackberry's that Skullcandy Mic'd headphones will not work with. Yours might fall into that category. I would call their CS department at 1.888.My.Skull to troubleshoot.

Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket Bud Headphones

Hey J Luna, only a couple models have the aluminum braided cable. The Pink, Black, and Chrome. I believe the Gold FMJ does as well, but I'm not 100% you might want to talk to a gearhead about that. The other colorways, Green and yellow, definitely have the nylon braided cord.

From my personal experience with Skullcandy buds they definitely tend to hold up well when it comes to moisture. In fact, I've heard of people washing their Smokin Buds, accidentally of course, and the bud still work.
