Heel lift finally cured!!!

Salomon Malamute Snowboard Boot

I've been plagued with heel lift until now.

This boot does not have many of the desirable features you look for in a snowboard boot...breathability, easy lacing, easy on and off. However, I finally found a boot that is comfortable AND keeps my heel locked in place.

The key to the success with this boot seems to be in two parts; 1) the shell is super stiff 2) there is a strap inside anchored at two points in the shell that crosses your ankle and VELCRO’s® to the liner. The strap is perfectly placed to hold the heel down to the boot. Genius!

Life is full of trade-offs. I can live with my feet getting a little extra sweaty, annoying lacing, and struggling to get the boots on and off as long as I am in control when I am riding!!!

I've worked with several people claiming to be "master bootfitters" trying to solve my heel lift problems in other boots with very little success. In some cases they only made it worse for me. I'm sure they meant well.

The Malamute boots hold my feet like glue right out of the box with no modifications. If you have struggled with heel lift, try these boots! Get ready for a fight the first time you put them on...they are stiff!

Perfect size bag for 2 boards - great value

DAKINE Tour Bag for Snowboards

DAKINE Tour Bag for Snowboards

Rating for this product: 4 March 7, 2005

I tried several board bags that claimed that they could hold two boards with bindings but would not hold mine (both are Burton boards and bindings). This is the first one I found that could handle both boards with bindings attached and two sets of boots and a small amount of other soft gear. This bag, however, will not last many seasons. After only 2 airline rides, the bag and zipper are already showing wear. The strap can be adjusted to be either a handle or a shoulder strap - not both. Many other models have both. This also does not have wheels that some of the more pricey bags do have. Considering the price, it is a great value. It will also definitely hold two boards with bindings that other bags will not hold.
