I already own many a tent. I ended up with the tadpole when a local outfitting store had it so horribly mis-marked that it would have been a crime not to buy it. Besides, it's free standing and under 5 pounds. I took it for a 4 day hike along the pictured rocks trail in Northern Michigan at the end of April. It set up easily and has a lot of room for one person. Two people would be tight, but better than most so called 2 person tents. There was no rain the whole trip which was a miracle for what time of year it was. So I set it up at home just in time for several inches of heavy rain. My concerns were that the fly was just sort of flappy on the sides towards the back, not tight like I'm used to. Much too my surprise after the rain stopped, the inside was dry, not a drop. The Tadpole comes completely seam sealed; I never did anything to it. I plan to use it the rest of the summer.
