Solid piece for skiing

Arc'teryx RHO LTW Neck Gaiter

Arc'teryx RHO LTW Neck Gaiter

Rating for this product: 4 February 25, 2012

Great fit, doesn't stretch out and is long enough to pull over the face on cold days.

I don't use this a ton as I run pretty warm but the few times I have it works prefectly as designed. Keeps the neck warm and functions great as a face warmer on the lift/in the cold wind.

Much better than a balaclava on all but the most arctic of days.

Cap 3 works great.

Patagonia Capilene 3 Crew - Men's

Patagonia Capilene 3 Crew - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 25, 2012

I have used Patagonia Capilene for more than 10 years and this piece did not dissapoint. Right weight, prfect fit and I really like the colors they're doing now.

I run very warm and use this piece solo under my shell unless it's below 20 degrees. If you run average or cold, a fleece layer will be absolutely necessary.

The Cap 3 layer is also perfect around the house/yard on cool fall days.

Outstanding pants!

Marmot Edge Pant - Men's

Marmot Edge Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 19, 2011

East Coast tele skier who spends a ton of time both resort and BC. After wearing out a pair of Mountain Hardwear 3L GTex pants that I had for 5 seasons, and trashing a pair of Patgonias over the next 2, I assumed I would end up with a pair of GoreTex pro shell pants. I have a Marmot shell that is bombproof and looked at the Marmot line. The Edge pant stuck out, so I took a shot.

After several days out this season, these are my new favorite! Great Marmot quality (as always)! Great fit, super comfortable, nice length. They let you move but aren't baggy like a park-rat's low riders. I like the high waist and suspenders without the restriction of a bib. I'm 5'11", 170#, 33 inseam and the large fits perfectly.

These are definitely tough pants. Material seems like it will hold up for years, even the cuff, which is a weak spot on a lot of pants I've owned. Not superlight alpine climbing pants, but that's not what they're for. They are warm but not insulated so will definitely work some spring.

In a nutshell: way better than I expected. Look great, tough, comfortable and fit awesome. Perfect hardcore ski pant. Another winner from Marmot and Backcountry.

Great combo piece

The North Face Down Triclimate Jacket - Women's

The North Face Down Triclimate Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 18, 2010

Love this jacket. Looks great. Very warm together with the down liner. The ability to wear the shell or liner separately is a major benefit. I have worn it skiing and am always able to adjust to the conditions by changing it out. Zipping the liner out is a cinch too. The best surprise is that the liner not too bulky but still crazy warm! I will be using this all winter.

Good leash

22 Designs HammerHead Leashes

22 Designs HammerHead Leashes

They work well, are pretty secure, easy to use with gloves on (a key factor) and can stay on your boots when your not on the skis. The metal clip is a bit heavy but not too bad.
