Gore Bike Wear continues to impress me (see Bike Tool Jacket review) The cut is practical, comfortable and stylish (though like most bike wear runs small, I'm 6' 185 lbs. and wear XXL) Cuffs can be cinched weather-tight and the collar is just tall enough. Zippers seal out water and the reflective (sleeve) details make signaling in traffic Hi-Viz! I rode 30+ miles in driving wind and sideways rain and stayed cool (pit zips are a must) and dry though the temp was high 40's. Excellent 3-season rain shell. Layer with the Bike Tool Jacket for Winter sleet. Quality materials and construction, not inexpensive, but made to last.

Cyclones' ribbed cuffs are sleek and nicely detailed. They tuck easily thanks to the low profile, well placed velcro adjuster. Dexterity is second only to Gore Mistral's. Cyclone has 3X the palm padding and Terry cloth thumbs, making it my choice on longer, uninterrupted rides. Cyclones' leather palm is likely more durable than Mistral's fabric, though I wish Cyclone had Mistral's rubber fingertips. These are quibbles though, really. Both are top-quality in design and construction, worth every penny. XXL in both brands fit my size 10.25" hands perfectly : )

Mistral translates to 'Arctic Express' here in the NW. Indeed, it was in the 20's today. Best Windstopper model and in the top 2 of any cold weather glove I've worn. Same superb fabric and fit as Gore Tool Jacket. Fingertips are rubber shielded (brilliant!), snug'n'dextrous (write checks, count money, dial combo lock, computer modes, press light buttons) yet allowed good circulation. Incredibly thin for their warmth. Rode errands for five hours. Kept them on during transactions (most gloves lost while continual off/on) and shopping w/o sweating. Then long downhills @ 30 mph. and below 0 windchill. Remarkable comfort range! Palm padding is minimal, but adequate (so far). No leather palms or terry thumb fabric for your (most certainly) dripping nose. Only glove to compare is Pearl Izumi Cyclone. My palm is 10.25" circumference = XXL in both. Your hands are precious, they deserve top notch gloves! : )

Exceptional style, cut and construction, impeccable design and details (zipper pulls are the BEST). Fabric is slightly stretchy with an excellent 'hand', yet tough and durable. I'm 6'1" 185lb with long arms and the XXL fit perfectly. Beautifully tapered sleeves make cuff adjusters unnecessary. Torso has just right balance of squeeze and freedom of movement. Rode an errand 20 miles away on my cannondale 'tank' (full battle dress-58lbs) today. Pit zips open (I ride hot) wearing shorts and Windstopper gloves I was able to mitigate hill climbs by opening front zipper (left-handed, my only complaint), and during over 4 hrs of riding only once broke a sweat @ 10.8 mph avg speed. Slices the wind like a knife, makes you feel bulletproof! : )
