Columbia Reach The Peak Down Hybrid Jacket - Women's

I really wanted to like this jacket but had to return it for several reasons. First, I'm 5'7", 140 lbs. and wear a size 8 or 10. I ordered a large. The length on the jacket was fine and it had a nice feminine cut. But it was completely too tight in the chest and my breasts were really compressed with the jacket zipped up (I'm a 36C). Another strange thing about the jacket was that the sleeves were nice and long, but they were also very tight. And I would say I have slender to normal-sized arms. I could not imagine even wearing a thin long-sleeved sweater under this jacket without being really uncomfortable. It's almost like this jacket was made using the sizing of a child and not a woman. However, I did like the style of the jacket. It's very thin and light and doesn't make you look like a big puffball. Also, the side paneling is awesome -- it takes some of the bulk out of the jacket and helps keep you cool under the arms. But unfortunately, the fit is just really weird for us women with curves.

I usually wear a medium, but sized up to a large and I'm really glad that I did. I think this jacket may run a little small. If I were you, I would go with the medium, since you mentioned that you have wider hips (like me) and this jacket does come down over the hips. I think a small would be too snug over the hips.

I'm 5'7 and it hits right about mid hip. I think it's a good length -- not too short but not too long. I wasn't looking for something to cover my entire butt, so if that's the kind of jacket you want, this coat may not be for you. But I really love it!

I just received this jacket in purple and looking at the pictures on the website, the interior lining is black. When I received the jacket, the lining is actually light gray. Does anyone else have the purple jacket and, if so, what color is the lining? If it's available in black, I would prefer that over gray (i.e., makeup is more noticeable). Thanks for your help!
