CAMP USA Compact Bet Lock

CAMP USA Compact Bet Lock

Rating for this product: 4 June 14, 2011

I've been using two of these for a few years now and they have been great companions in anchor building and belaying. It has a surprisingly large basket that is maybe only surpassed by something like the omega pacific jake lockers. The rounded and relatively symmetrical shape of the basket is nice for accommodating multiple cords and slings without them all bunching up into one corner like on a more pronounced D shaped carabiner. The locking sleeve isn't quite as smooth as a petzl or DMM but it's been trouble free and easy to use. It comes with my personal recommendation.

Petzl Attache Locking Carabiner

Petzl Attache Locking Carabiner

Rating for this product: 5 June 14, 2011

This carabiner (and most petzl locking carabiners) has one of the smoothest locking sleeves of any carabiner out there. I have been using this alongside a similar black diamond carabiner for the same amount of time and the petzl is still very smooth to lock and unlock the sleeve while the black diamond has developed a gritty feel to it and sometimes it is a little difficult to screw closed with a single, tired hand. Big ups to the high quality materials and machining of the petzl attache!

K2 SideStash Alpine Ski

January 7, 2011

The sidestash is lighter and more versatile than the pontoon. They are probably charging for the metal in the skis, the fancy tip and tail skin attachments, and the relatively light weight. I am 5'5", 140 lbs., intermediate skier and I ride the 174s with no problems. It's a little bit of work in steep and firm conditions but other than that it's fine.
