Stoic Somnus 15 Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down

March 17, 2012

Is there a draft collar? The specs say there is however I do not see one in any of the pictures. Additionally reviews of other stoic bags indicate that there is none when the specs say there is.

Therm-a-Rest Prolite Plus Sleeping Pad

August 17, 2011

I would definatly go with the full length. With hammocks you need a pad to insulate your bottom from the air around you not the ground like when using a tent.
People can get away with using 3/4 pads on the ground since you can use your pack for under your legs, but I find this very difficult to do in a hammock.
The fact that your looking at the plus version of this would lead me to believe you will be using this for winter camping I would recommend finding a wide 25" pad that will wrap around your body for when its below 45/50 since even with a normal pad your sides will touch the side of the hammock and get cold since there is no pad and your bag will be compressed providing little warmth.

Stoic LTWT Sleeping Pad - Short

Stoic LTWT Sleeping Pad - Short

Rating for this product: 5 July 31, 2011

You buy this pad because your <5' tall, or your looking to shave ounces. This actually weighs in at Just 10.75 oz without the stuff sack or cords (rubber bands work just as well).

I got this pad because it has the same specs as the prolite short, but a lot cheaper. For being only 1" thick it's pretty comfortable as long as you choose a rock free campsite. I can sleep anywhere on my big Agnes insulated air core, but this is half the weight so it's well worth it.

Like other reviews of this and the regular sized version say it takes a while to inflate the first few times but slowly gets quicker. It doesnt puff up as fully as a thermarest, but I think that actually makes it more comfortable (you can always put a few breaths in there if you want).

Norrøna Lofoten Warm 2 Fleece Jacket - Men's

August 17, 2010

How does sizing for this specific fleece work? I have viewed other norrona products and some say the fit is large, some say smaller, and same say the same as most other brands such as TNF and Arc'teryx (Im a medium). I am 160lbs and 5'8" - the sizing chart says I would be a small, but one reviewer said this jacket runs one size smaller.

Could anyone verify?
