good technical jacket

Sherpa Adventure Gear Shishapangma Light Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 10, 2010

Got this jacket last year for a hike in the black mountains last december. While I was moving on the trail this jacket + a light wool baselayer + an occasional light sweater was all I needed to stay warm in temps down to 20 deg and windy. (The 30lb on my back also helped).
The material is a bit odd, as dalto says, but its stretchy, lightweight, and wind + water resistant and still quite breathable. My friend with an Arc***x jacket was actually quite jealous.
Its a very technical piece, not something that I wear around town much. This jacket isn't lined, except a little in the front so the seams inside are exposed. The armpits and back of the arms are a lighter material that's more breathable (lighter colors in the photos).
caveats: The velcro on the sleeves is wearing out already, but that's easy to repair. The neck isn't very comfortable if you zip it up all the way. Not as good quality as some of the more overpriced outdoorsy brands, but at $40 on SAC, its a steal.

(I'm 5'11" and 155lb and I got the small because I wanted to be able to layer over it. It fits slim but its not restrictive because it's stretchy.)
