Love Mammut pants.

Mammut Eisfeld Pant - Men's

Mammut Eisfeld Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 23, 2012

Awesome fitting and looking pants. I bought the US 34\EU 50. They weighed in at 746 grams. More than enough room for a baselayer underneath and a small fleece pant could be worn as well. They have a tighter more athletic fit but offer full range of movement. They are much warmer than I expected and seem extremely high quality. I'll update after climbing with them a few times.

Works fine with some modification

CAMP USA Vector Balling Plate - Pair

Rating for this product: 3 June 16, 2011

For $8 they are fine. If you put them on correctly they stay on but they aren't the best fitting. To add some extra security You just need 3 small zip ties for each crampon. The back plates stay in place really well by threading the metal extender through it.

Mountain Hardwear Monkey Man Lite Fleece Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Monkey Man Lite Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 6, 2010

Was trying to answer mvick's question but it wouldn't let me.A Medium will most likely be too short for you.I'm 6ft, 180lbs, 33inch waist. I just got a medium in today. I can barely fit my arms in it and if I raise my hands above my head it becomes a belly shirt. I wanted a slim spandex type fit but the arms and length are just too small.A large is too big for me from what the sizing chart says but I'm going to exchange for one and hopefully it fits better without having a fat waist. If anyone reading this has 15.5+inch arms you are going to find the medium very uncomfortable from how much the arms have to stretch out.The product is really nice otherwise. It's very soft, super warm, and I like how it's a different material in the venting areas. I'm looking at using it over a baselayer for alpinist stuff.

Updated: the large fits well on my frame. Also, it weighs 430g so about 55g less than I was expecting.

Great Pants

Norrøna Narvik Gore-Tex Performance Shell Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 1, 2010

I've used these for a few mountaineering adventures and they are great. It's been wet and warmer so I've tended to use them directly over a baselayer.

The vents work really well. The zippers move well and are easy to use even with gloves on.

The included gaiters work pretty decently but for deep snow a pair of OR Crocs would still be warranted. The reinforced ankles have saved me from a few crampon holes. I'm generally very careful but have managed to poke one hole in them about an inch above where the reinforced part cuts off.

These pants wear pretty large. I'm 6ft and a muscular 180lbs. I have a medium and they have plenty of room, even in the thighs which is rare for me with outdoor gear.

Great adjustability

Mammut Skywalker 2 Climbing Helmet

Mammut Skywalker 2 Climbing Helmet

Rating for this product: 4 November 30, 2010

I've had this helmet for over 6 months and I've been very happy with it. Most chin straps give me problems and really both my throat\neck but I forget this one is even on.

The helmet is very easy to adjust, even while climbing. It makes it very simple to get a nice fit when wearing different headgear.

Nice pad

Therm-a-Rest Z Lite Sleeping Pad

Therm-a-Rest Z Lite Sleeping Pad

Rating for this product: 4 November 29, 2010

I like this pad a lot. I've gotten some of my best nights of sleep on it. I've used it on rocky surfaces in 20 degrees with a 30 degree bag and stayed very warm.

I'm looking at getting a Therm-a-Rest Prolite Plus for snowy mountaineering adventures though.

Pink Feet

Mad Rock Con-flict Climbing Shoe

Mad Rock Con-flict Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 4 July 7, 2010

I've been using these for a little while and think they are pretty good shoes.

They turn my feet pink from the red stained leather inside of the shoe.
This was a fun surprise when I first took them off. I thought they were just too tight or rubbing my skin raw. =]
