Stylish, cheap, plastic

VonZipper Burnout Sunglasses

VonZipper Burnout Sunglasses

Rating for this product: 3 April 4, 2011

Luckily, I got these sunglasses for around 35$ on sale and with a local's discount up in the mountains. For that price, they were worth it. The optics are decent. Not excellent, but certainly sharp enough for most activities. The plastic used feels cheap, though. Compared to my Ray-Bans, these feel low-quality. At least in my case, they don't work well with hats. The back of the frame runs into the hat too much.

Perfect 14er shoe

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 4, 2011

As long as you've got good balance and strong ankles, this is a perfect shoe for climbing 14ers. I haven't had much success trail running with it, but I prefer a more lightweight shoe. The Gore-Tex lining is awesome for that random snow patch or stream.

Metolius Dirt Bag - 1210cu in

Metolius Dirt Bag - 1210cu in

The tarp is way too small. Not a huge issue if you're climbing where there isn't a ton of dust and dirt, but it's really problematic in Colorado. Relatively easy to carry and load. Good bag for the price.

Great flips, if you can get a bargain

Chaco Hipthong Two Sandal - Men's

Chaco Hipthong Two Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 April 4, 2011

Bought these sandals off of steepandcheap.com for about 50% off. At that price, they are unbeatable. The additional straps ensure a snug and comfortable fit. Contrary to most flips, you don't have to exercise your toe muscles to keep them on your feet.

Pros: Fit, tan lines, comfort, versatility, durability
Cons: Break-in period, price

Nathan Quickdraw Elite Water Bottle - 22oz

It should fit most flip or sliding phones. No luck with an iPhone or anything of that relative size.

Nathan Quickdraw Elite Water Bottle - 22oz

Nathan Quickdraw Elite Water Bottle - 22oz

Rating for this product: 5 April 4, 2011

I bought this bottle in June of 2010. Since then, I've replaced shoes (multiple times) socks, shirts, shorts, and virtually every other piece of running gear imaginable. This bottle, however, has lasted the entire time. Once you get used to a handheld, it's not an issue at all. The bottle fits snugly, and the material is very breathable. I've ran 26.2 with this bottle many times. As an added bonus, the pouches are big enough to hold an ID, some cash, and a very energy gels.
